Hi! I have a new Bosch Dryer. We can't seem to get it to dry. It stops after just a minute with a linter filer light flashing. We pull the filer -whiich is clean and new- out and re-intstall it.... but the error continues. what should we do?
The Bosch Dryer has a temperature probe in the heater exit and in the exhaust area visible when you open the door. If the temperature difference between the two gets to high, the lint filter is assumed to be plugged and the alarm goes off.
It seems that the temperature probe at the heater, can end up with a faulty connection to the control panel over time due to corroded contacts or lint build up. When this happens the control panel thinks the filter is clogged and it may also not turn on the heating elements properly. Remove the back cover over the heating element (12 screws) and then remove the one screw holding the red wiring connection to the dryer body. You can then wiggle out the wiring connection and clean / unplug and replug in the connector for the sensor. (plug with two small wires only). A little hard feeding the connector back through the hole so take your time and don't damage the wires). Should all work again. May want to inspect inside the heater at same time and make sure the overheating switch is not tripped. ( press in the red button).
I had a problem with our Dryer shutting down after a brief time and the clogged filter light showing. I removed the lint filter at the door of the Dryer and checked it. there didn't look like there was any lint in it, but I held it up to the light and coul not see through it. Also tried to blow through it and coulden't. I filled a deep dish with water and some dish-washing liquid, let it sit for about 1/2 hr, and brushed it thoughly with an old tooth brush. let it dry outside for 1/2 hr and put it back. The dryer works ok now.
Dryer worked great for almost a year after cleaning probe connections and cleaning out lint from around fan motor and inside heating element. Started acting up again so opened it up again. lint clogging heater again! Seems to be leaking lint at higher rates and needing cleaned quite often. Recommend cleaning heater elements and motor area yearly. Next step is to see what can be done to reduce lint leaking into motor area.

Kudos to the person who said push the Start/Stop Button for 5-7 seconds. That helped solved my problem. Issue: We were drying clothes. Finished several loads, then dryer would not start. Checked the lint filter, not too bad but cleaned, reinstalled, nothing. Read another board that said there's a probe down in bottom of lint filter area. Took a ruler to move a few handfuls of lint build-up. Found the probe buried under lint. Took a magnet and picked up some miscellaneous jewelry, hairpins, bling. Took a Grabit tool to pick up 70c in change. Took a wooden skewer to push some lint buildup through the filter vents inside the dryer down to the bottom of the lint chamber. Took a shop vac and a Christmas wrap cardboard tube I was going to throw away. Held the tube over the shop vac hose and squeezed the cardboard tube so it would fit down into the lint chamber. Vaccumed up all of the lint. Closed the door, pressed the Start/Stop button. Nothing. Just the Start/Stop light and filter light flashing. Read this thread about the Start/Stop button 5-7 second trick. Tried it. Nothing. Held the Start/Stop button and Signal button in for 20-30 seconds. Nothing. Held the Start/Stop Button and Delicates button in for 20-30 seconds. Nothing. Opened and closed the door for lack of anything intelligent to do. Pressed the Start/Stop button in for 7 seconds. Success! Back to normal. Dryer is nice and clean and I'm .70c richer. I was close to trying the mallet, and rocking the darn thing into submission.
The dryer lint filter does not clean easily. It easily cleaned when the dryer was first new. Any suggestion?
This is from memory from some time ago. the "clean filter" light is actuated by a stat in the air flow which senses rise in temp caused by reduced air flow due to a clogged filter. i recall there is also a thermal fuse in series with this stat which if open circuit will cause the problem you describe
The Lint Filter Light blinked and the dryer would Not Start. I pushed the Start/Stop Button down and held it down until the dryer started. Takes about 5 to 7 seconds.
I also have a new Bosch dryer that dries for a few minutes and the lint signal buzzes. I finally figured out that most of the lint doesn't come out with the lint filter - it just gets jammed down into the vents between the dryer and the filter. If you can figure out how to get some kind of baby bottle washer into the space where the filter goes and get the lint to come out of those little vents - then the machine will dry much longer before the next time you have to give it the bottle washer treatment.
My problem was solved when I pulled the duct pipe, and cleaned out the accumulated lint. I had used my previous dryer for almost ten years, cleaning only the last three feet of the duct as it exited the house. The Bosch is much more sensitive to clogs.

The filter warning light comes on when there is virtually no lint in the filter and the machine stops. I have to empty the filter and restart 5 or 6 times for each load. I sent the dryer back to John Lewis with this problem and they replaced it but the new one does exactly the same.
