HP PSC 2355 print cartridge not supported?

Hi there, Been using a replacement ink cartridge (bought from/ supplied by WHSmith) for my printer, was working fine until today, turned on printer and straight away get a "Print Cartridge in right stall not supported" message on printer screen, nothing will print and all buttons (other than the off/ on button) refuse to operate...although everything goes back to normal operations when replacing cartridge with the old (but empty) HP cartridge. Not sure why this is now happening, but need to print some stuff asap - how do I get around this issue?? Thanks in advance for any help! Alun

If this is not a factory new cartridge then that may be the reason it is giving this error.

SOURCE: Print cartridge in right stall not supported.

As a refiller, I've seen this many times. Usually it happens in the multifunction machines. If you put that cartridge in a stand alone printer, it will work good. HP all in ones blow a resistor in the cartridge making it useless to any all in one machine. Sadly, it is time to buy new.

This is a problem with the printer's firmware. I've seen it on there PSC 2350 series. You need to call HP and ask them for a link to the update.

SOURCE: Incorrect Cartridge Print cartridge in right stall not supported?

I changed the cartridge and it now works. I resent this though because it had been merrily printing before it decided it would stop and I have had to waste a three quarters full cartridge! I just hope the new one does not go the same way

SOURCE: HP psc 1310 - gave paper jam and print cartridge

clean the rubber rollers of the printer and try to print. if it is still having the same problem. reset the printer by unplugging the power cord of the printer while its turn on. then plug the power cord back in. once the printer is on press and hold the power/on button and the size button. when the on button is flashing then release the buttons and try to print again

Can I use an HP75 tri-color printer cartridge in my HP PSC 2355 All in one printer even though it usually takes the HP95?

HP 75 tricolor cartridge is not designed for PSC 2355.If you try to install it,you'll get a message incompatible ink cartridge or cartridge problem.using a different cartridge may also damage the chip embedded in the printer.do not use hp 75 as a replacement for hp 95.

What does 'Print Cartridge in right stall not supported' mean?

It means you have a faulty or incorrect cartridge installed on the right side position. It could also mean the contacts are dirty or misaligned. Remove the cartridge, clean with rubbing alcohol and reinstall.

This is not a unknown error particularly if you are using cartridges other than the HP brand. Other people will tell you it is fine to use off brand cartridges or refilled cartridges. For myself, I have never had luck doing that - on the other hand, I have never been disappointed using the more expensive cartridges recommended by the manufacturer across several brands including Epson, Canon, Compaq and HP.

Try cleaning the contacts and ink jets. You may have to replace the cartridge. If that is the case, I would return the faulty cartridge and get a store credit.

Just a few thoughts for you to consider. Thank you for using FixYa.com today.

What ink cartridge does the hp 2355 all in one inkjet printer use

Hello,

The PSC 2355 uses a standard Black 94 and a Tri-color 95 cartridge.

It also can use a Tricolor-97 and a Photo 99 cartridge.

Here is the HP price list:

Also, here is a link to the main support page for the printer where you can obtain much more info.

I bought hp 98 ink catridge from Walmart for my hp psc 2355 printer. when i installed it the printer gave me incompatible error. I went back to walmart to return it and they said the hp does not allow...

Try to sell the ink cartridge through 'www.CraigsList.com' or 'www.eBay.com', or find a "FreeCycle" mailing-list, and give it away.

Or, buy an HP printer that *DOES* take the "98" cartridge. :-)

HP PSC 2355 Truncated lines

Try cleaning the paper rollers and the print head.

Use a wet cloth to clean the paper rollers.

Use a little amount of water and some alcohol (Isopropyl alcohol) to clean the print head. (You may not need to do this if your printer cleans it automatically through software utility.

This may be also have caused by the low ink level. Replacing the cartridge should solve this problem.
