There are so many different things that could cause this I will need someone to look at these things.Click Here=> GE/Artica Technical Information If you are able to follow these items to check I will be able to point out what is most likely. First open freezer and look at rear wall to see if there is a frost line building up. If not then unplug and at link above click on wiring diagram and it will open into a new tab as a Service Manual, Save to disk. Have you tried to get the temperature board to respond to lower temperatures? If not responding I will need someone to do some voltage test from tech. sheet at site above. Your compressor could be short cycling also due to defective start relay, capacitor or defective motherboard Part=> WR55X10942 I know I can help you fix it if you feel comfortable with checking a few things. The defrost heater is part=> WR51X10055 Defrost Heater Assembly The part for defrost thermostat=> WR50X10054 Defrost Thermostat Either way it is a defrost problem or a control problem and the compressor is very likely getting hot from struggling with trying to cool. Leaking water INTO fridge
Your problem is a blocked drain which prevents melt water from the defrost from getting out. You'll have to expose the coils and find the drain hole. It is possible that the problem can be on the other end of the hose...where it hits the evaporation pan in the bottom of the unit.
