Most common reason for this is laser failure. It is not sensing the disk so the motor does not start.

Take the cover off to see what it is doing,

Try cleaning the lens with a cd/dvd lens cleaner disc. Another thing of note....some cd players simply will not recognize homemade cds, or dics that are not audio discs, or if they were made on a computer.

is it in the unit itself have a look carefully if theres a load button on the unit they go into the unit if theres no button indicating this look hard for the changer should be in dash in the unit itself

You can try running a cleaning disc through it.
But it's likely the changer has failed. A new one will need to be installed.

if you are burning ypur own CD's and putting a label on them sometimes the player doesnt like the extra thickness of the CD. Do you have the same problem with a regular CD bought already recorded?

There should be a pin-hole on the front of the cassette, just like on a PC cd drive. Push a paperclip into the hole to release the cassette manually.

It will only accept audio from the bus in conections when a multi changer is connected and selected.

This is how I connect my mp3 player to my sony.

Swap multichanger audio outputs at the rear of the stereo for my mp3 player, press source to select multichanger.

Remember as I said, if there is not a control cable connected to your multichanger it wont wotk!
