Samsung Digimax i5 Digital Camera Logo
Anonymous Posted on May 20, 2007

Digital Camera Hello, I own a Samsung Digimax i5 camera w/ 3x optical zoom. Lately, when I try to use it outside, or inside by a window, the shots I take are way too overexposed. I can't figure out what is wrong. I keep it in the well padded wallet that came with the camera, plus I use a quilted purse to hold it in. My PDA is fine and it is kept right in the next pocket as the camera and it is not in a protective wallet. (Should be!) I was just wondering if you knew what I could do to try to fix this. We have tried to find a way to do some trouble shooting online, to no avail. When I went to Samsung technical support, there wasn't even a choice for cameras. Thanks for any consideration of this problem. I appreciate you making knowledge available. Cindy

I couldn't find the pages you suggested on the "global site", so, I had to wait until I could find my own User's Manual. Due to my 2 year old, this took some time! Sorry it took so long for me to rate this wonderful advice! I took it back to default settings and it works beautifully! I was so afraid! Thanks for ALL your help!

Here is the link for the user manual for your camera; http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/200703/20070331073103000_Digimax_i5_ENG.pdf Check page 53 (Metering) and try the two different settings to see if you get a change Check Page 43 and 45 (Exposure compensation) and try playing with the settings Check page 44 abd 45 (ISO sensitivity/White balance) and also have a play around If none of this works then check page 103 for reset to default settings instructions. If none of this solves the problem please post again - Hope it helps :)

ps for samsung tech support on digital cameras you need to look at the global sites, not the US site - don't know why - the link to the global sites are available on the US samsung site.

What kind of charger does a Sony Cybershot DSCW80 7.2MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom and Super Steady Shot need

Hi,

The DSCW80 Camera is supplied with the BC-CSGB Battery Charger which can be used to charge the battery of the Camera by inserting it to the charger.
You may also use the ACLS5K AC Adapter (not supplied) for charging the battery by using the Multi-connector cable of the Camera.

Thanks for contacting FixYa.

I'm having problems with I focus the camera out. It becomes burrie

The camera has limited ability to zoom out. I believe you have a 3x optical zoom, and a 7 x digital zoom. Once you go beyond the optical zoom, the camera attempts to digitally render the zoom which can cause pixalation, or bluriness. This should never be an issue inside the optical zoom range as the image is going directly through the lens.
