Make sure you're using a supported memory card. See the table below for specifications:
Memory Card TypeMaximum Capacity
CompactFlash Card
(Type I and Type II--3.3V only)
8GB
Microdrive (3.3V only)
4GB
SD (Secure Digital)
2GB
MultiMediaCard
1GB
If you connect a compatible CompactFlash (CF) adapter that can read 8GB memory cards, you can also use the memory cards listed below (with a capacity up to 8GB):
If the 8Gb SD card works on your HD camera, then the problem is with your built in memory card of your computer. Most of the built in memory cards of the computer only supports up to 2Gb. You can actually isolate it by trying to test an SD card lower than 8Gb to your computer. Solution for this is to use external USB SD reader that supports high capacity SD card (SDHC) or contact the manufacturer of your computer and ask for firmware updates for the memory card reader. Hope this is clear and would help you.
8MB or 8GB? If it's actually an 8MB card, you'll be able to put maybe two or three pictures on it, so I'll assume it's an 8GB card.
The DX4530 is designed to work with SD cards. Your 8GB card is actually an SDHC card. While SDHC cards will fit into SD devices, there are electronic difference that prevent them from working there. SD cards will work in SDHC devices but not the other way around.
Some cameras cant manage/format large size memory cards as they where not made to handle that size. Check your user manual which should tell you the maximum size memory card your camera will take.
I read the following spec for your camera:Recording Media
Internal Flash Memory 64MB Video/Image SD/SDHC Up To 32GB Video/Image
So, I think that an 8 GB SD card should work.
