Google this----the burnt one will look bigger----most are actually 1/2 watt and none that burn are over 1 watt. If 46 one of the two chips for convergence got it.

First unplug the unit until problem is found---I would look inside for burnt parts like resistors in the convergence circuit which is the most common issue this set has.
They may be discolored or brown in the middle and not actually charred.
Locate what burned and you will locate the area where the problem is, many resistors in that area are protection, if a short they destroy themselves very quickly ....
If you were having any issue before or at the point it started smoking where picture looked odd or even 3d it will be in the convergence circuit.
Not exact but something like this--the two black chips and resistors in front of them.
Replace your STKs they are big black ICs will have part # on them STK392-110 if 110s use 150s better ICs also you need to CK small ohm resistors rk42 rk48 rk50 rk52 rk56 rk58 rk62.I will have to get back to you after i find correct value of resistors.
You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together convergence repair kits for most models.
The kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, thermal paste, etc. Everything you will need to do the repair yourself.
You can find a new Hitachi replacement protective screen and screen assembly for a model # 46F500 from a major Hitachi distributor at the following links:
If you did manual conv. You have to redo it when you replace the bad parts. Them being conv. ic's replace them and check 1/4 watt resistors that are low value right beneath amps. Careful not to solder any foil pads together or you will have major problems. Very common for do-it-yourselfers. Good luck, Russmann.
Can anyone give me the resistor values for location RK 42, RK 46 and RK 62? Hitachi 46F500 TV. Or can I be pointed to the location of a service manual? Tony
