1. Cellular is blocked out on most scanners. You might find a mod on the internet to unblock it....but

2. Most cellular now a days is digital anyway, so even if you could listen to the frequency, it would just be noise.

SOURCE: SCANNER SHUTS OFFABOUT 10 SECONDS AFTER i TURN IT ON

This is usually a sign of weak/worn out batteries. Make sure that your batteries are fresh/fully charged and that the contacts are free of corrosion.

Anyone know how to fix a Panasonic Viera 50" Plasma that powers off a couple seconds after powering on?

tThe diagnostic circuits is shutting your TV down. In most cases the set will shut it down immediately. Apparently your set hasn't shut completely down yet. When you turn your TV on the diagnostic circuits send a low voltage, low frequency signal through all the circuits and depending on how they come back whether the sets powers up to full power. If a problem is detected it will shut down to protect the other circuits. It sounds like you might have some capacitors going bad on your power board. A capacitor that is going bad would let it come on for a few seconds then the diagnostic circuits would see the capacitor getting further out of tolerance and shut the set down. If you are a DYS type person you might want to lay it flat of it;s face and remove the back. A bad capacitor will be bulged out on the top. are Replace capacitors with the exact uf value and if you can go above the rated voltage but never below., If this isn't the problem then it is probably the main board (the board where your cable hooks up to), There are other things that cab causes for this but I would check the capacitors first.

How to turn iPod of

Well, to turn it off normally, just HOLD the sleep/wake button for 6 seconds or so and sliding the power-off button. To turn it off completely, as in a frozen state, hold BOTH the SLEEP/WAKE button and the HOME button for about 6~10 seconds and it should shut down without asking you to slide to shut off.

My Wireless Acer Aspire One Notebook is always on. It doesn't want to turn off.

Force shut-down it by holding the power button for a few seconds.

After force shutdown, turn it on again and try to shut it down the normal way again.

Update me what will happen. =)

When I turn my television on it auto turn off after a few seconds. The light starts to blink when I first turn the tv on and then the Tv just shuts off on its own.

Hello Sir, hi, you have power supply problems, this is caused by a bad part on the main board or on the power supply board to overload, when overload happens, the power supply immediately shuts down to prevent further damage. my first advice is call your dealer for proper service.

Can not get the power button to shut down the computer no matter how long I hold it down and the computer appears to stay in hibernation. Will not reboot or do anything when power is applied and power...

Remove the battery and leave off for about 1 minute. Put the battery back in place and press the power button to turn the unit on. immediately after you see system light come on, press and hold the power button and see if it shuts off after a few seconds. If not, then its likely your motherboard is defective.

My Samsung hcn4226w won't stay on.

There are many protective circuits inside the set that will shut it down if a problem is detected. It sounds like there are intermittant detections of problems and the "restart" temporarily clears the problem. If the unit is no longer under warranty, open up the back with the set unplugged and try reseating all of the boards and connectors. The trip may have jared a few things loose. Update this with the results.

Thanks,
Dan

Olympus FE-230 won't power up properly

It is repairable. First, check to see if it is still under warranty, (I'm pretty sure Olympus's warranty is one year) or if you purchased an additional coverage, even better. If this is the case, call it in. If not, it will not be worth the $ to repair. Unfortunately it cost as much or close to the price of a new camera to repair them and typically is not worth it. If you want to check around though, you can call some camera stores (Wolf Camera is a good choice if you have one locally). Hope this helps!
