We have a 42" TV and when we switch to High Definition the picture becomes too big for the TV screen. The ATT Uverse tech said we would have to "manually" adjust the aspect ratio to get the picture to fit because the "standard" ones won't do it. He is right the only problem is I cannot locate the user manual for the TV and I can't seem to find one online either.

SOURCE: Aspect Ratio or Input Issue

Not sure but you might be confusing your aspect selection on your DVR with aspect selections on the tv itself. Make sure you use your hitachi remote & check all available aspect ratios. Find one that suits u best

SOURCE: cannot change aspect ratio

If you are connected to a HD cable or satellite box, the aspect ratio is set by that box. If it is set for 1080i 16:9 wide screen mode then your TV is locked at that ratio. This is good considering you have a Hi-Scan 1080i television in the Sony KP57HW40. Please take a moment to rate my answer. Thanks...

SOURCE: convergance on big screen won t move from left to

Hi my name is Roety,
I can help you with your issue ,
A repairman will charge about $350-$400 to replace the convergence ICs for you.
Do it yourself repair is very technical and could cost more in the long run.

I can't get the function to switch from TV to DVD

Hi Gary,
Previously Tech Support here of ATT Uverse. For your issue you may want to try this steps by changing the input: click number 7(same as input) on your att remote you should have input lists on your tv screen. If not doing anything use your TV remote and find there input, source or tv/video and you should have input lists on your tv screen. For the input you should choose HDMI 1 or 2 if you are using HDMI cable. If not try to choose anything on the input lists and you should get the right input in order for you to watch on your DVD and going back to TV. Hope it helps

The screen on my tv is black on both sides

It's called a pillar box and it's normal when watching standard definition content on a high definition television. You can adjust this setting by pressing the format or pic size button on your original television remote or by pressing the zoom (bottom right corner) on your Uverse remote.

I have AT&T uverse and a 42" Emerson

ATT Uverse remote doesn't work well with Emerson TVs.
Most will turn off with the correct code but NOT ON.
Find the code that will turn OFF the Emerson TV.(volume should work too)
When you want to want to turn ON your Emerson TV Try This (Believe it or not)
Wave ATT Remote slowly and press ON in mid wave. The ATT remote on frequency must be slightly off. This works every time for me now that I know the secret. Remember Doppler Effect from High School Physics.

Need Viore code for ATT-U-Verse remote.

I tried every code suggested for my Viore with Uverse and nothing worked. Finally decided to reset the remote to factory settings using code 900 as described in the instructions from ATT uverse. The remote now works on my Viore tv and all I did was reset the remote to factory settings.

Att uverse receiver hooked up to sharp aquos tv, remote quits

first try new batteries and be sure you have pressed the AT&T mode button at the top left of the remote - if you still have issues then on the sharp tv menu - turn off any energy saver mode, Optical Picture Control, taking the picture mode from dynamic or vivid to standard, and if that doesn't work - try changing the backlight settings if your tv has one.
