Hi all, I am having headaches from this DIR-655 router from the following reasons: - CANNOT access router's log in page - CANNOT reset to factory default (apparently the reset button does not work) - No status LED (might be broken, but my wired Internet is still working) I have a U-verse 2wire 3600HGV. It's my wifi router at the moment, but I want a wireless N capable router so I added DIR-655 in between 2wire and my home network. For the first couple of resets, it worked as intended, but today no matter how long I pressed the reset button, I did not see the lights in front blinked in succession to know that the reset was done successfully. So, I plan to pry this router's gut open. Can anyone give me an advice before I tear this apart? Return this unit to D-Link is not an option for me.

Perhaps the router is not broadcasting its SSID, therefore is invisible to would be tappers. Type 192.168.0.1 into a browser on a computer directly wired to the router, leave the username blank, if you havent changed it, the password is admin by default. Once logged in check that wireless is enabled and that you are broadcasting the ssid, you may want to setup/change security settings for the wireless connection at this time also.

Hey Raj - Unplug your modem and router. After 60 seconds plug your modem back in. When the lights return to normal (except the activity light) , plug your router back in. Give it 10 seconds and try it. If this solves your problem PLEASE rate this as fixed. If not, DO NOT RATE YET. Just add a comment letting me know what happened and I'll be happy to assist you further. Thanks.
Jeff

The PC will detect a closed loop within the Network cable so forget that. Sorry but the router is bad if you cannot access it and the reset button does not help.
Have to get another 1

1. check connection by 1st pinging the network card That is go to the dos window and type " ping 127.0.0.1 you should get 4 replies.
if not then you need to check the driver set for you network card.
2. check the ether net cord with a know good one
3. reset the router by unplugging it and reboot the pc
4.Call your ISP to check for outages
5. check the power adapter it may be faulty.
