I got a second hand handle for a tc201 but it had been repaired but was not working. I opened it up ant the wires had been re spliced badly so I respliced them but the head came off and the wires pulled out of the connectors. I dont' remember which wires went to which connectors. THe is a green, black, and a white. Do you haveve a diagram?

if it is that bad , go to a wreckers / junk yard and get the full wiring harness and replace the existing harness
wiring diagrams are in the workshop manual available from ant auto parts shop
You need to keep your eyes open for these pests and take action with the best carpenter ant you can find when you first identify them. If not, it may be extremely costly in home repair further down the line.
If it works ok then leave well alone ,this is not the first time i have come across this on a auto box but then not many autos around this area but i do know that if it works then dont play as the only one that i say that had been repaired cost a new computer ,well it did get sent to the frd dealer by a customer who bought the car from a second hand car dealer as it was a auto but they wouldnt pay for it as the car wasnt brought back to the car dealer for repair but taken straight to a ford main garage and we all know how they like to invent imaginary problems with main dealer prices ,most likely cause is the computer but it could be fixed by rewiring the switch straight to light for a hours work and a length of wire ,but the new computer job ?? and the car dealer paid up for good customer relations even though it was in the sales contract that the car had to be brought back and i would have rewired it .
If the insulation is burnt off the main wiring you have a severe short. DO NOT TRY TO USE. Unless your a qualified electrician or motor repair tech, take it to one to have it repaired or by a new one.
Had exactly the same problem with my upright Eureka Model 5893
bagless. Eventually, the handle would get hot, and finally it just
quit. When handle was disassembled, the wires were melted and it was
toast. Ordered a switch after talking
to several repair men. Talked to Eureka, too, and they were absolutely
no help. Cheap wiring and switch made in China. Good luck trying to
find a switch. vacuum-depot.com has switches, so you might try there,
but make sure you get the 3-prong switch (same switch used on Eureka's
Genesis). It is Part #27871.
On the handlebar switches, Harley hasn't changed the color code scheme very much over the years but you really need a good schematic to know exactly how they are wired up. If you can find either a Harley service manual for a 96 model or a Clymer's manual, it would be helpful. I have a schmatic for a 94 FXDWG that should be alright for your 93 FXR but you need a schmatic for a 96 model bike.
Try looking up Powersprtseast.com They have a parts fische you can use and though not in color itself may have colors labled on diagram for wiring harness.
Check your fuses. Wiring is like plumbing. Follow the feed. Need a lot more information but just plug it back in if it's a harness. It's it's just spliced together then you have to check each wire by disconnecting and rewiring properly. Rewire while car is off turning to Acc after each wire. Start with power, ground, pow ant, to verify connectivity. Once power is on start with speaker wires.
