Misfiring at low revs and ok at high revs
SOURCE: yamaha outboard saltwater series too much
too much oil in mix---- their is a pump for supplying the oil and something is up with this .now what i have found is their is a brass type jet in the outlet and this is no doubt missing but its not a big problem just mix the oil into the petrol ,easy but the air leak is a another problem as this is a fault with the reed valves which sit in the inlet manifold ,if you remove the manifold you will find a set of metal reed valves and they could just need cleaning ,Its a fairly common fault where their is a ingress of salt water from spray and if they are beyond cleaning then you will just have to renew them easy to do but not cheap .What i used to do with my mercury 2T engine was to put a about half a litre of diesel into a tank of fuel with the oil ,now i know it smells but i found this kept the top crank bearing lubricated ,I now have a 4 stroke engine and its superior in every way and uses less than a third of the fuel for the 2T
sounds like a bad coil or trigger. Find the offending cylinder with a timing light and physically move the coil to a good firing cylinder. If the problem follows the coil, you have it, if not you need a trigger,
