Noise and overlapping 'ghost image' on photos

After printing 22 pages of color photos on my Stylus C88 with no problem, the printer started making a rough noise while printing, like something needs to be oiled. The photos got an overlapping ghost image, about 1/4 inch out of alignment which I can't seem to fix. I've done the nozzle cleaning and realignment, but I can't figure this one out. Maybe the printer is just dying? Please help!

It sounds like something causing the print head to **** e.g. lack of lubrication on the track, missing teeth form the drive belt etc. Use MS Word (or something) to draw a black, magenta, cyan and yellow square, then drag the four squares so they completely overlap. Then lift up the printer top cover and print it. Watch the print head and see if you can identify the cause of the misalignment. Let me know what happens, or if you don't quite understand what I'm asking, come back at me.

**** = a word in English which is normal, but in American is clearly rude. I mean judder!

Can you make it so you can print black and white when the colors run out? i know i've done it with other printers before but can not find the option on the epson c88 properties.

Dear friend,
In other make like HP it'll print without colour cartridges. But in this model Epson there is no possibilities of printing without a single cartridge. You may reset the cartridge and use it for printing. But reset process only reset chips.

I keep getting lines on all my images when I print in color. I cleaned the print heads at least 5 times and have all new ink cartridges. Please advise.

1. make sure that nothing is clogged.
2. use a software specialized for cleaning your printer.
3. make sure that the printer is set to "color"

MY printer stopped working from on day to the next...the problem is when I print out a photo from IPhoto or Preview on my IMac OSX10.4.11 it starts with a large margin which doesn't allow for the complete...

Hello

Large photos are printed differently than regular photos.

Photos that have large resolutions or are best when printed in larger sizes are sometimes printed on multiple pages. Printing the photo on two or more pages requires setting up the printing options so that the printer recognizes how the photo should print and which areas to stop printing on each page.

Open the photo in iphoto

Select "File" and scroll down the list until reaching "Print". Click on "Print" and wait for the printing set up options. Some programs require selecting "Set up" or "Print set up" instead of "Print." Make sure the set up options are brought up according to the program.

Select "Time Imageable Table" or similar options in the program. If there is not an option with a similar title, look over the various titles and any pictures that come with the titles and see if the pictures show multiple pages or only a single page. Click on the options that allow printing one photo on multiple pages.

Select overlap options, which give margins so that connecting the pages forms the picture. Overlap around 1/2 inch or so.

Print the photo. The number of pages should match the set up options selected under the imageable table.

Epson stylus C88 won t print color ink black is

If you have carried out 4 to 5 head cleans, waited about 8 hours and done another 3 or head cleans doing nozzle checks after each clean (as recommended by the manual) and there is still no improvement then you will need a third party head cleaning solution such as this one:
http://websites.uk-plc.net/UK_Inkjet_Cartridges_PLUS/products/Print_Head_Cleaner.htm
Other makes & brands are available just google "inkjet head cleaning solution" Hope this helps.

Epson C88 printer only prints blank pages

See my post about about underhead cleaning. If that makes no difference you will need the countermeasure for the split cap tube. The document about loss of ink on CX series machines is also applicable to C88

C88 printing in grey instead of the color

In the Print dialog, go to 'Properties.' Screw around in there for a bit.
