Installed Belkin drivers in WinXP. Attached the Belkin usb to serial adaptor and system recognizes the devise. Checked properties of devise and it is com4. Open program and only com 1 and 2 are available. Tried disabling either com 1 or 2 in WinXP properties and assigning the Belkin to com 1 or 2. When the program is opened which ever com I've assigned the belkin is not available. What is Belkin doing that would cause this? I've borrowed a friends generic devise w/prolific chip set and it works. He wants it back. Have I wasted $40 on a Belkin POC or can it be fixed?
