Belkin F5U109 recognize by WinXP com x program does not

Installed Belkin drivers in WinXP. Attached the Belkin usb to serial adaptor and system recognizes the devise. Checked properties of devise and it is com4. Open program and only com 1 and 2 are available. Tried disabling either com 1 or 2 in WinXP properties and assigning the Belkin to com 1 or 2. When the program is opened which ever com I've assigned the belkin is not available. What is Belkin doing that would cause this? I've borrowed a friends generic devise w/prolific chip set and it works. He wants it back. Have I wasted $40 on a Belkin POC or can it be fixed?

Driver for Belkin USB PDA adaptor using windows 7

Usually just plugging it in works, if not go to your Control Panel, go to the "Add a device" option and follow Window's instructions on the rest. :)

Need a driver for Windows 7 64-bit for my Belkin f5u109

No, this product is not compatible with Windows 7 - 64 bit. It is compatible with Vista 32 bit computers. however u have a similar adapter which is compatible with Vista 64 bit, and Windows 7 - 64 bit you can use part F5U257 (USB-to-Serial Adapter).

My garmin GPS 12 needs a serial port connection. New HP laptop with Windows 7 OS only has USB connections. Salesman sold me a Belkin F5U109 adapter but windows wont recognise it.

You should install the drivers for the adapter running as administrator. If the adapter is not supported by windows 7 you should give it back to salesman and get a new one compatible with windows 7

Belkin f5u109 64 bit device driver for usb to serial adapter. need drivers. the belkin website only gives 32 bit versions

There aren't any 64 bit drivers for it available, at least publicly. You can email their support and request them.

Hopefully they'll hook you up.
