Almost all sets that do not have a source/video button on them require the original remote to change inputs.

Installing ps3 to u-verse

You will want to hold the key of whatever option you are programming (ie tv, aux) and the ok button when you let go the button you held will flash once or twice. Each time you hit the fast forward button the remote will cycle through a code. Keep hitting the fast forward button until your device turns off, then hit okay again.

My remote won't change from AUX to Tv and all of the buttons don't work on AUX except for the volume and mute, how do I get it back on tv? Thank you

Try to push the TV button that is lit red at top middle of remote for 5 seconds in stead of hitting input. In other words by holding the tv button down it might trigger it to respond better. Thanks Mike

Ok, I've seen all the 8million freakin 'hold button 5 seconds' explanations. All the other explanations, but I see NOTHING, nothing at all on my tv screen. My tv is a Jan'04 model, is this...

I understand your frustration - my PS3 went through about a two week phase where it only read disks about a quarter of the time. It sounds like you have gone through a lot of the standard troubleshooting stuff, so I'm just going to ramble some facts and ideas and hopefully something will be able to help you!
- If your television works, there is no reason it wouldn't be able to host the PS3 system. There is a chance that it will not support full 1080p high definition, but the PS3 is still incredible in standard definition.
- Have you used any AUX input devices on your television before to confirm that the red/white/yellow input jacks work? And have you checked any documentation on your television to see if there is some way to switch to AUX input?
- If you've pressed the button for 5 seconds, the PS3 should be using its default graphics mode, and will be in standard definition using the cables, so that shouldn't be the problem
- If the regular cable TV is playing, there is a good chance the TV needs you to ask it to switch to a new mode of input manually - is there a button on the controller labeled "input", "source", or "AUX"?
If none of these are any help, I would recommend going on eBay or heading to the nearest GameStop and buying a new set of connection cables - there is a chance that is the problem, and is a lot cheaper than tossing the PS3 entirely! Good luck, and I hope I was able to help!

I have a Vizio 210 soundbar and the remote control is junk! I want the code the woeks on my Comcast universal remote control.

After much research, here is a step-by-step for getting your Vizio Soundbar to work with the Comcast remote using EFC codes (mine is the newer charcoal grey one, works great!)

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 11144 (2 blinks)

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00169 - Vol Up - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00168 - Vol Down - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00037 - Mute - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00165 - Power - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00164 - Input - Should get 2 blinks

These are optional, I didn't use them:

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00036 - <button to use for TVOL> - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00101 - <button to use for TSHD> - Should get 2 blinks

Then set the volume control on the remote and other settings according to the Remote's manual.

ENJOY!! Hope this helps someone...

Unable to get ps3 to play when hooked to receiver

The audio inputs on the receiver need to be set to receive the Optical signal on the switch you set the ps3 to. ie Game, DVD, AUX. Each switch needs to be set to receive the audio signal coming into it. Usually on the remotes setup feature.

No Aux Channel but I have the yellow and White plugs in the front!

Certain Universal remotes have extra menu and input buttons. Take a look around and see what you can find.
