Digitech rp3 fx pedal too much voltage wont turn on

Consult the manual for the rating of each power adapter to compare. The units will also have the specs needed printed next to the power input jack, but the manuals will be more detailed.

Make sure you have the OFFICIAL Digitech power adapter. Universal adapters or those for MOST other pedals will NOT work... things may light up but you will NOT get audio. This unit requires an adapter supplying 9 VAC (not DC) at about 1 amp. These AC output adapters are not very common and people get the units without an adapter and try using universal adapters and they do not work. An AC adapter is used by Digitech so they can generate both plus and minus voltages internally. I don't know what your utility power voltage is in Cebu, so you need to get an adapter for your voltage that will give 9 VAC output and fit the power jack on the unit.

You CANNOT use the Voodoo as it outputs DC voltage and the EX-7 requires an AC voltage and of 9 VAC and also 1.3 amps at that.

NO power light or audio from Digitech Vocalist 2 live. Check that your power adapter is for 9 Volts AC (not DC like most pedals) and is rated at 1300ma or more. A DC adapter MAY light up the unit but not make it pass audio. Lights can be lit but that is NOT an indication thaat correct power is applied. They likely use the AC input to generate both positive and negative voltage within the unit. The use of a DC adapter will prevent generating one of these required voltages and prevent audio from passing.

A friend of mine had the exact same problem. In his case the pedal is only good for hammering nails now. If it still has it warranty I'd say look into that, if not you've got nothing to lose. Open it up, look for unattached wires. Also, try using a battery instead of an AC adapter..

Check that connectors are seated AND the input and output are correct.

Sometimes1/4 inch plugs are not seated correctely. The power adapter plugs are notorious for not making contact.

Sell the pedal and get a digitech, or convert it into a looper pedal.
