I purchased this player s/n GS1F1224000272(AAS) approx. 3 months ago, fine. Suddenly it has lost the speaker, it playes the music on a tutorial DVD but when the person starts to speak, there is no sound. With headphones plugged in I get one ear, and if it comes out partially I get the other ear, e.g. left and right, but not together. I have tries pluging into a power socket, or portable, but the same result both ways.
SOURCE: Not working
Check if the power signal in the base turns on. If not two things can be appening. The base or it's transformer is damaged, or the output jack of you soundboard is dead. Check the sound form the soundboard with some regular headphones to find the source of the problem.
Make sure that the base and the wireless phones are on the same channel and you batteries are fully charged.
SOURCE: NO sound??
Make sure the volume is turned up sufficiently. If it is, then get it exchanged if still in warranty.
SOURCE: Philips Pet706 portable dvd will no longer play sound without earphones
try connecting it to small external multimedia speakers (usually played with computers) that come with a small jack simmilar to that on earphones.
SOURCE: doesnt sounds right...
Try a diffrent pair of earphones if that does not work the jack is shorted on the media player and needs to be serviced.

SOURCE: Sound from one speaker with mic plugged in.
Hi I am Vortash it sounds to me that this is linked to the realtek program off shutting off the speakers when the earphones are attatched , it is confusing the Mic plug on one channel as a speaker plug .. check in the advanced section of your mixer settings that you have not got the box ticked that says treat all inputs the same .. and the other that says mute rear when front plugged in ? as does mine .. ( same system that was my problem yours may be diffrent ) if this fails uninstall your realtek drivers and uncheck the realtek devices in device manager unistall them and rebboot the computer installing new drivers .. hope this helps regards Vortash
