How do i unhide a folder on my asus laptop - ASUS Computers & Internet

in my computer c or d drive -- go to organize -- click on folder and serach option --click on view --go to hidden files and folder -- select the option " Show hidden files and folder". then click on ok

Can you unhide it on your computer, but can't on other computers? If thats the case then its probably a virus. You can solve this by getting a good antivirus. I use Norton. Scan and clean up your usb device. If this problem occurs on your computer, try the following steps: Do this with your usb device connected to your computer On Windows 7 or Vista, go to Start>Control Panel>Folder Options In folder options, click on the "view" tab and select "show hidden files, folder and drives". At the top of the window, click on "tools" , then "folder options" , then click on the "view" tab. Then look for a check box that says "show hidden files and folders". Then click "apply"

its better to to unhide the folder then you should go to the command prompt and go to that drive which you want to unhide content like

D:> attrib -r -s -h then press enter

all unhide folder shown.

for this issue there is a registry fix :

Go to registry editor by running regedit in the run box.
Go to this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

In the right hand area, double click hidden and change the value to 1.

surely this will work

i am not able unhide my folder and files which were hidden for security purpose as i was doing earlier. disk file system is NTFS. disk property shows the disk occupied with some appx 1.3 GB data. how do i unhide the same and get data back?
