When I insert the disk a screen comes up that says The screen resolution to execute digital camera disk is not sufficient...what do i do?
You don't need to install anything.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

You can find this in Control panel, display, settings. What do you see there?

You have to set the resolution on your computer's monitor to the minimum required to run the software. To do this, go to your desktop (no programs showing) and right click in an empty area on the desktop. Go down to "Properties" on the menu that appears and click on it. Look along the top of the window that opens for a tab named "Settings" and click on it. You should see an option (usually on the left) to change your screen resolution. Change your resolution to the minimum required for the program. Depending on your computer, you may be asked to confirm the new settings, or you may have to restart your computer (the computer will tell you). Once you have the new screen resolution set, things will appear to be smaller on the monitor, but you will be able to see more of whatever you are looking at.

Sorry this is a late response - I just had the issue with the T1i solutions disc ver. 20.0. on Windows XP
Right click your desktop and select Properties
Go to the Settings Tab
Under "Display" you should see it is selected to your default monitor or Plug and Play monitor.
Under that, you will see Screen Resolution on the left hand side. If the slide bar will not allow you to change this any higher, then at the bottom of the window you will see an option for Advanced
Write down your current screen resolution so you can change it back after installation is complete.
Click on Advanced - You will see tabs at the top - click on the tab marked "Monitor"
This will show you Monitor Type - under thatyou will see Screen Refresh Rate (ex. 60 hertz)
Under that is a check box marked "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display"
Uncheck this box and click "OK"
This will take you back to the screen resolution and you can change it from there. Change it to 1024x780 - this is the minimum display resolution for the installation disk.
When you have installed the software, you will want to change it back to your normal resolution
Note - if you want to use the EOS utility to download and edit your pictures, you will need to change it back to 1024x780. I just use the Windows Camera/Scanner wizard to download, and then use Adobe to edit the photos.
Hope this helps!
