Connecting magnavox dvd/vcr player DV220MW9 to a 40 year old TV

I'm using a digital conversion box and an old TV that works great. I have no problem connecting the digital converter but installing the dvr/vcr player is a problem. The old TV has no plug in audio/video jacks. Any installation suggestions would be helpful.

What type of Inputs do you have on your TV. (ANT IN, S-Videio, RCA Video,RCA Audio)

If you only have a ANT In or RF Coaxial hook up you will need a RF Modulator

The Magnavox DV220MW9 VCR/DVD player does not have a TV tuner. It does not have an RF coax (antenna/cable) input or output. It does have composite and component outputs.
Basically, it will not work with an old TV that only has a RF coax input.
The only way to make it work is to use an RF modulator to convert the composite output of the VCR/DVR player to an RF signal (usually channel 3). The RF modulator would cost more than your old analog TV is worth.
Rather than spending money on a RF modulator, I would put that money to a modern digital flat screen TV that has multiple inputs.
Analog video is a dying technology. Since 2009, all broadcast TV has been digital.

I have a magnavox converter box for our TV to convert Analog to digital - how do I hook up a DVD player thru it?

you cannot use the dvd player of the combo through one of these converters

however for the vcr portion here are a few easy steps

connect the magnavox converter to the IN on the back of the VCR
then tune the vcr to channel 3 or 4 whichever the converter is set to

Comcast Digital Conversion box (cable TV)

You will have to split the signal before it goes into the digital box. The digital box is not allowing the analog signal to go to your vcr so you will only be able to record what you are watching on the cable box (on channel 4). If you split it, you will get all your analog channels back on your VCR (the way it was before the box was added).

No video output from Magnavox VCR (MDV560VR)

You need to tune a chanel on your tv to the vcr signal, using an RF cable (aerial cable between vcr and tv). That is if your tv has an analogue tuner.

Connecting dtv box to vcr to dvd to the tv

you can hook the cable box into the vcr and then out of the vcr into the spliter which will turn your tv red/white/yellow signel input into two inputs( you can get this at most radio shacks for about $7.00 dollors) this leaves you with one more input for the dvd player

your model is "tuner free" that means it does not have the RF screw in connector. Buy one that has a tuner, preferably both ATSC(USA digital) and NTSC(USA analog)

How to connect my dvd & vcr with the converter box

Here is my setup.
1) Separate DVD player 2) Separate VCR 3) Digital to Analog Converter box 4) Analog TV 5) Rabbit ears (UHF/VHF) antenna
The antenna goes into the converter box.   The RF-output of the converter goes into the RF-Input of the VCR The DVD output goes into the front input jacks of the VCR The VCR RF-output goes into the TV RF-Input The VCR Line output goes into the front of the TV
To watch DVDs, we turn on the DVD player, turn on the VCR, and set the VCR channel to L2, and tune the TV to channel 3.  The converter is off.
To auto record on the VCR, the converter must be tuned to the station being recorded.  The converted must be turned on, the TV can be off.
To watch VCR tapes, turn the TV and VCR on.  The TV is set to channel 3.  Just press play on the VCR.
To Watch TV.   Turn the TV and converter on.  The TV is set to channel 3.   Change the stations using the converter.
