ROPER 7 CYCLE WASHING MACHINE, ABOUT 5 YEARS OLD. Machine does not spin correctly and makes a noise like an unbalanced load but after repositioning the clothes several times, it still does it. I was thinking that a hook has broken on one side of the tub inside which would create an unbalanced load to occur all the time. I want to open the front panel and just see if there is something loose of broken on the agitator tub but can't figure out how to open the front panel. In the previous washing machine I had, you pryed up the top panel a little and could flip down the front panel, but that does not work with this roper. Any suggestions. Thanks. I email previously, but my email was incorrect.

The load has become unbalanced. Pause the machine in mid-cycle (do not Stop it) and when it ceases spinning, open it and re-distribute the load evenly. Then press Pause again to continue the cycle. Note: if you Stop it, then restart when finished balancing, the machine will start washing from the beginning instead of continuing from where you Paused it.
I'm not familiar with roper washing machines so I'll ask the question does it have two fill hoses. Most European machines now only have one fill. If it has two then it sound like the machine takes the initial water from the one fill and the rinse cycle water from another. The humming sounds like the valve for the other fill needs replacing. These are quite inexpensive and easy to fit. Power off.. remove lid ....switch of water...take out valve when you establish which one is affected and replace
Hello, It can be one of two things, the contacts in the dial can have worn or broke causing the relay not to open or close to activate spin cycle.
Most likely it is your transmission or main gear for your spin cycle.
I hope its the dial which is an easy fix, but the trans is a big project IF the washer is worth it. You may consider looking for new/used washer if trans is bad. Good Luck.
Possible that the belt is slipping and also there is some issue with the agitator as the gaps within seems to bring up the dirt or grease mix to the clothes. So it is important to remove the panel and check the play on the belt, replace if the play is high and check if the agitator bearings are worn out. If so the agitator assembly must be taken out and checked.
My LSQ9549L is 7 yrs. old as well with an awful sound when spinning in high speed. I've changed the agitator assy. as well as removed the drum and cleaned the soap build up on it. Still makes a terrible sound in high speed spin. All other functions work. Could it be the springs or coupling? I'm leaning towards it being the counter balance springs with it being rather weak. Could I be correct? Your help is much appreciated.
I usually stand in front of the washer and take the plams of my hands and forcefully provide a force with the heel of my hands on the side front corners and the lip comes up
Another option is to pull the washer out and remove 2 clips (usually requires quarter inch nut driver to allow the top to come up
This should allow you to get the top off to see if a spring has broken or slipped off
tilt it back to see all the mechanics of it. and make sure that the machine is level in both directions. this site may help you with what parts look like www.repairclinic.com enter model number and scroll down to the red 100 and it brings up even more parts for your model. Good Luck
