Won't snap picture

I've had my camera for a few years now, and it's a little beat up, but up until this summer it's works just fine, no major damage. Then suddenly, it wouldn't snap a picture. It focuses and if I press ******* the front of the camera (the flat area besides the lens) then it will snap and actually take the photo. I thought maybe something wasn't connecting electrically and I was wondering if anyone knew a way to fix it.

SOURCE: my camera can't focus when i press halfway

First off, try gently turning the focus ring on your lens while it is on auto focus mode (DO NOT force it). Sometimes a minor bump on the lens can cause the focus ring to come off the tracks. Try that and see if the lens start auto focusing again. I find that this solves the issues a lot of the time. If that doesn't give you any results then you'll need to take your lens to an authorized Canon service center for repairs. Hope this helps!

Samsung PL50 with Samsung 2GB memory card says 'memory full' even though I've cleared down the memory via my laptop.

Have you actually formatted the card in the camera ? Just copying the photos does not remove them from the card

Nikon N65 Won't Turn On , With NEW Batteries . This Camera Is NEW ! Please Help ''/

Nikon hasn't manufactured the N65 is several years now, so if you bought it it was either misrepresented as new, or possible new-old-stock (a never sold/used item, that's been sitting on the shelf for a number of years). I'd be willing to venture you probably ran into a disreputable seller.

Either way, open the battery compartment and look for corrosion in the compartment. If that's present clean it off with the eraser of a pencil and try again. If that doesn't work, contact Nikon service with the warranty information in your package. If it's a new item, it'll still be warrantied since the warranty won't begin until it's sold to a consumer.

If, however you find that the camera was sold 10 years ago and no longer under warranty, you'll probably want to either find a local reputable shop, buy another camera if yours turns out to be too expensive to repair (impossible to tell until someone looks at it to determine the issue), or if you don't have a local shop I'd recommend KEH Camera in Atlanta, GA for mail-order/internet dealers. They've been in business many years and are very reputable.

The camera is telling you that the internal memory is full. To get your card to work, you must clear it. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, your card should work unless you formatted it in the computer, in which case you'll have to format (completely erases it) it in the camera.

Hello! I've got a Minolta X -700, it's pretty old, but I got it to work a few months ago just by replacing the battery. Now, when I turn it on and pull the advance back, the shutter still...

This is an electronic failure in the cameras shutter release mechanism. Capacitors will need to be replaced and circuit boards need to be cleaned of the electrolytes that have leaked onto them. This can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

You say in your description that you're "focused in". That means that you've pressed the shutter button half-way and allowed the camera to lock in the focus (it will beep). You need to maintain that half-press until the moment you want to snap the picture and then press the rest of the way. That will give you a faster, "instant" picture. Is that what you do?
