Hello there is no problem with the driver of your CD rom the problem is in your CD rom. Try to clean your cd rom with a piece of clean cotton. Gentle rub the cotton on the lens of your CD rom, then try to insert a cd if the problem is still there clean it again and again. If does not get by cleaning it is good to be checked by a electronic technician because maybe the lens have a problem or may need an adjustment to the lens of your CD ROm. In ejecting your cd rom there is a problem with your cd rom microswitch which is located inside your CD rom or the trigger of the microswitch is miss align. Hope this can help..

600E 2645 won't boot from cd rom

u will have to go to your setup screen and reorder your boot screen so your cd rom will boot first so you can install windows 98, but if your cd rom isn't working you need to go to your device manager and look for your cd rom and install the driver

Sir i have seen that there is ntldr missing

you do have a couple of options. firstly check and double check that you do not have a floppy disk in your PC at boot, if you have remove it.

secondly you are able to restore if you insert the origional win98 cd rom and reboot the pc.( you may need to alter the settings within the bios.
Bios
you are looking to change the boot order so that the CD rom is looked at before the hard disk.
a good order would be floppy disk cd rom then HDD.

hopefully the pc will boot to the win98 cd rom, (from memory you are given the option to repair your installation).
If you do decide to repair the operating system will reinstall from scratch, meaning that you will need to reinstall applications previously installed.

importantly user data will remain, only the operating system will be altered.

you can find more information about this from the following link.

hope this is helpful.
