Its possible that your have locked the SD card; remove the memory card from the camera and make sure that the physical switch is in the "UNLOCK" (up) position. See photo example...

I have a Pentax Optio E35 and the tranfer programme has disappeared from my computer and can't find disc to reinstall. Are there programmes available on-line to install to help?

Use a card reader to download your pics to a folder you create on your desktop.

I can't access my menu, a lock icon appears on the screen for a Pentax Optio M10 Camera

your menu's locked (yellow icon) if it's in green mode. exit the green mode, and you'd get your menu back.

just fyi, since i helped my dad troubleshoot his cam (same model as yours) a while back.
