Can't connect to Xbox live but internet test passes

I am attempting to pass the Xbox Live connectivity test on a Xbox 360 so I can sign up again. Using a direct connection to a Netgear router (WSG614v7) and a DSL modem (Motorola 2210-02-1002). I have setup portforwarding on 3074, 88, and 53. I have tried allowing DMZ on the static ip assigned to the Xbox (10.0.0.8) as well as just letting Upnp alone handle it. I updated the router to latest firmware, and attempted to set the modem to "bridge mode" (not sure if i suceeded?). Everything else on the local network works fine. A laptop on that libg cable surfs fine. Just not xbox live connection when testing. It fails and says "connected to internet but cannot connect to Xbox live" ... suggests checking for open ports.

How to setup Xbox Live

You will need some kind of internet connection so you will use either an Ethernet cord or a Wifi adapter. After you connect to the internet through your Xbox 360 you will have a 1 month free Xbox live trial. When the trial ends you will either use an Xbox live silver subscription which doesn't allow you to play games on-line, use Netflix, etc. Otherwise you would need to buy an Xbox live gold pass which is a better deal as you purchase a longer subscription. Thank you

Cant sign in to xbox live because when i try it says enter pass code

If you have forgotten your pass code, and if you have to remove it to sign into Xbox LIVE, follow these steps:

Note The following steps apply only to Xbox LIVE online profiles. When you delete an offline profile, you lose any Gamerscore that is associated with the profile. You also lose achievements and statistics that are associated with the profile.
  1. Delete the profile for which you forgot the pass code. To delete a profile, follow these steps:
    1. In the My Xbox area, select System Settings.
    2. Select Memory.
    3. Select the memory device on which your profile is stored.
    4. Select Gamer Profiles.
    5. Select the profile that you want to delete.
    6. Select Delete. When you are prompted, select Delete Profile Only.
  2. In the Xbox LIVE section of the Xbox Dashboard, select Recover Gamertag from Xbox Live.
  3. Select Yes when you receive the following message: To join Xbox LIVE, you must exit your current session.
  4. Enter the gamertag for which you want to remove the pass code, and then select Done.
  5. Select Next.
  6. In the E-mail Address section, type the Windows Live ID credentials (the e-mail address and password that you use to sign in to the Windows Live ID) that are associated with your gamertag, and then select Done.
  7. Enter the password for the Windows Live ID account, and then select Done.
  8. Select Sign In.
  9. If you want to set the pass code again, follow the steps to set an Xbox LIVE pass code.

Xbox live

I would suggest that if you are xbox live unless you have fast internet dont use the internet for other things like your computer. Its most likely that there is not enough bandwidth for everything. If that doesnt work call you internet service provider and explain the problem to them and if they are a legitamate company they will help you out.

Xbox live test fails and so does update

you need to open the port that the update is trying to go through. the easiest way is to turn your firewall off, but this opens up your security. another way is to forward the correct port through port forwarding on your router. findout which port xbox live uses and put in the information to the router

Connecting to xbox live failing

The xbox live board is down,so if you pass all tests except the xbox live one, this is the problem.I rang them and they said over 50% of users are having this problem. Its because so many people went on it over Christmas and the system got overloaded. They said they're working on it and it should be up and running in a week or two. ~~PS~~ I rang on the 12-1-08 so it should be up by the 20th,its not your fault, the servers down.
