If your compressor is oil-less type, most likely pressure is leaking past piston ring. To verify, remove cover to expose bottom of cylinder (unplug compressor and let out all air). With flashlight, examine the upper-most part of the cylinder (turn motor by hand till piston is at top of stroke). If top of cylinder is scratched, then pressure is leaking past. If cylinder looks good, most likely problem with reedvalves or broken gasket in pump head. Parts are not too expensive for most small compressors. If your compressor is oil lube type, problem sure to be in the head assuming no leaks. Good luck

My 1999 crown vic is still not building fuel pressure. I've changed the fuel pump and fuel pump relay still not building enough pressure. What else can i try

check or replace fuel pressure regulator. symtoms are. lack of fuel pressure, excessive fuel pressure, black smoke and engine running rich, instant drop of fuel pressure, when turned off delay building back up sufficient fuel pressure. also be sure fuel filter is not plugged. check the filter first !!

My compressor will not go over 20 psi i have a craftsman 921 4 gal 125 psi compressor and it will not build past 20 psi i do not know how to get to the pistons and stuff what do i do?

The problem with compressors not building pressure is usually a bad pressure switch or bad regulator. Does the motor shut off at 20psi or does it continue running and not build pressure? If the motor continues to run with no increase in pressure, the you should go over the machine looking for air leaks from your regulator back all the way to the motor. Any air leak while the compressor is running can cause the pressure to "peak" way before the intended shutoff that it is regulated to.

Air pressure only builds up to 45 lbs. compressor continues to run. I drained all the air and it still only builds up to 45 lbs.

The check valve is not holding the pressure back off the head, therefore allowing the pressure to build up fully.

Pressure in the tank only builds to 30 psi

Bad check valve. But I would check the regulator, by turning it down to about 10 PSI and running it and see if it builds again, if that works then it is the check valve. But from what you are saying I would replace the check valve anyways.

EC-12 runs but only builds to 35 psi and continues to run

It looks like there might be a knob which sets the max air pressure coming from the compressor. If there is one, this may have been turned down.

There are usually 3 pressure settings on an electric compressor. Compressor max, pressure switch cut on, and pressure switch cut off.
