Heater fan stop working after a couple of muinutes

When you turn the heater on the fan will blow for a short period and then stop. The heater will continue to put out a little heat, but even when you turn the therostat to its highest position the heater coils will not come on.

we have the same problem, fan stops working after a a few minutes. Our dimplex electrolog airheater is only 1 yr old. ser# 26007D2F 478. Model 6901050600. Have used it for about 3 months. Bought it at Lowes, but they don't carry parts. Any advise? My email is [email protected]

I have the same problem, i isolated the over heating switch to ensure it was not faulty and while doing so observed the fan motor slowing down and when not enough air passes over the heating coils the fire place switches off. I hav'nt figured out the fan problem yet but it has to be something with the set up off the fan as it kicks off at different times sometimes 5 mins others 40 mins. What a pain in the ***!

Buffalo 85 fan not blowing

sounds like the fan is not working, can you isolate the fan and run it by itself with out the burned, this will tell you if it's the fan motor or some sensor that's the trouble

The heater stop working a couple days after i added a radiator cleaner and the heater stop blowing warm air today, is there a fues to replace or did the heater valve get clogged

If the fan wont blow air at all then it is a fuse. If the fan works and the car is warm you have a clog somewhere. you could try pulling a heater hose off when the car is cold to check for flow.

We have an electric fireplace - the blower fan is now not working - was working fine - but just stopped

Don't despair, it's very common with electric fireplace/heaters. They weren't built to run long periods of time and most fail within one year.

A couple of things may have caused your problem. These fans get clogged with dust, lint and/or pet hair and is puts a strain on their continued operation. If you're fortunate enough to still have your Owners Manual, it will show/tell you how to access the fan motor and blades under the lower portion of the firebox. Clean the fan and motor using a vacuum cleaner, that has a hose and a brush attachment. Attempt this only after you have unplugged the fireplace from the wall. If you have a can of compressed air with a straw nozzle (like you clean your computer with) use that to blow out the nooks and crannies. Reassemble the bottom of the firebox, plug in the cord and give it a try.

If that didn't solve your problem, either the fan motor is bad or the switch to turn the fan on is bad.
Those parts you'll have to purchase directly from Dimplex USA.

Hope this helps you solve the problem.

1988 bmw 325is heater keeps blowing 30amp fuse, tried to find a short but me heater blower fan isnt working what could be the problem. cant keep a fuse without blowing

More than likely the fan motor its self is short to ground try to unhook the wires to the fan motor and install a new fuse and then turn the fan on with the wires removed and if the fuse is still good you know it is the fan motor its self

Heater and a/c fan doesnt turn on

Your fan motor has either burned out or there is a short in the wiring. Check for voltage at the fan motor plug under the dashboard. If you have power there then the motor is bad, replace the motor and you should be good to go.
