The right transmission on my Toro timecutter Z (16hp 42 in deck) overheats after about 30 minutes and will not engage until after it is allowed to cool for about an hour. Do I need to add oil? what weight oil? is a seal or o ring blown/worn. Thanks for the help, Mike

Check with your Toro dealer about what oil to use. If you don't have a dealer close by then go to the local dealer that repairs profesional outdoor power equiptment. There is nothing worse than trying to purge the wrong oil from a hydro unit.

You need to check the oil level right now. Normaly you would use gear oil sold at walmart but I do not know the type you need I would use 10w90.

Take out the plug on the side and fill up to the plug.

The type of oil I would use would be fully synthetic motor oil, 5w 30. It is basically the same as hydraulic oil.
