The game Mario Kart is one of 99 games preloaded onto a R4 chip, which when inserted only shows as 98 games but the game is in the system back up where the game was saved and i need to restore it to the original list, which i cannot do.

Hi! Remove the micro SD card from your r4 and plug it into the computer using the card reader and from there search for the game you want to install and then double click it. you would be able to install it back again into your r4. now you would be able to see .nds extension after your game name(like Mario.nds) if not then search it. and now disconnect the memory card and put it back into the r4 and you will be able to play the game again.

Once you have deleted your game it cannot be restored. You'll have to just start over. Good luck

I suggest you install the game like when you got the game. Or how did you have the game in the Ds Lite?

My son has deleted games of a nintendo ds r4 cartridge. can they be recovered? And how?

Once deleted they can not be recovered the only way you can get them back is to put them back on the R4 via the usb adapter slot that was given to you in the box

My sons r4 chip in his ds lite is not working we had it for a year it was working perfectly with heaps of games on it that all worked, oneday he went to play it & it just stopped,it gets stuck on...

The problem with these kinds of cards is that due to the legal gray area that accompany manufacturing these devices, they're usually made in the shoddier factories as opposed to a reputed one. You probably have a unit that managed to slip through the quality control of a shoddier plant. If you save the memory card inside the R4 card you have now you can purchase a new R4 card and slide the memory card into that and preserve your son's backed up games and saved games.

My son I think has deleted all games ...how can I restore them

Greetings,

The game data for GBA SP games are held in the actually game cartridge itself. It is not stored within the GBA. If the data from the games has been deleted, he would have to restart each game from the beginning. There is no way to restore lost saved data once it is gone. Thank you for using FixYa! =) If I helped, please give me a rating.

My son has an R4 card for his DS, he just DSIxl will it work?

The old R4 cards for the DS do not work in the DSi due to different firmware. You will need an R4DSi. Legal Disclaimer :- Please do not use R4 cards for playing illegaly downloaded computer games :)

Honestly, first i would copy al of your ROMs to your computer, and if you want to keep you saved game, copy the .sav files also. Then after that, make sure you have the newest kernel on your computer. Then delete everything on your R4 card. correctly install your kernel on the card again (and if you dont know or remember how to do this, i have written a guide for it) and copy your roms (and .sav files!) back on to your R4 card. PS: it would be better to only copy the kernel at first, load the R4 card in you ds, then after that, load the roms and/or the .sav files.

How do i get deleted games back on ds r4 card cause little sister deleted some of the best games like mario kart ds and cooking mama and also super mario!!! im so angry !!! plz plz plz plz help me plz...

Cards like R4 allow you to store multiple games on one card. So when you start your DS, you choose which game you want to play and do not have to take all your games with you. The R4 relies on a microSD card to keep track of the games and save files. Your actual game, you should be able to recover from the original game cartridge (since you do actually own the game).

To recover your game progress (save file), you can put the microSD card in your PC (using the appropriate adapter) and just have a recovery program look for the files on the microSD card. There are several good FREE file recovery softwares on the internet. They will likely be your only shot a recovering your game progress but that depends on how much you've used your R4. If you have used it a lot, your save game may have been overwrite which means it is lost for good.

Whatever you do, do not do anything illegal.

Cannot play games off R4 mem card

Well just to let you know that R4 is an unofficial product for the DS and so it can sometimes have problems or drawbacks. Chances are when you save the files onto it your micro sd card reader is not corresponding correctly so you may want to either get it checked out or read the instructions and if there is anything you dont understand post it on here. .SAV files are basically save files placed onto the card which just allows it to be ran on the DS. Hope i helped.

Games will not list in DS even though downloaded onto SD Card.

Try plugging the memory card into your computer and checking that the files still exist. It is possible to delete files from the memory card whilst it is plugged into your DS.

NDS R4

Im not 100% sure about this...I own a R4 myself. What I do notice if you use the wrong type of SD Card(Anything above 2GB) or use it in the wrong type of R4(SDHC Kernel in a Non-SDHC Card) It tends to get stuck at that loading screen.

Sometimes you can remedy this by taking the R4 out and the sd card out and using a air can or blowing on the parts in between(inside the DS, Inside the R4) and try it and it will sometimes fix that. Also a corrupted transfer of the kernel or a bad kernel can do that too.

Hope this helps.

Btw here are a few Kernel Links:

R4DS(SDHC): www.r4ds.us

Hope this helps
