My Sony Trinitron TV does not respond to commands from the remote control. I am certain it is not the remote as other machines do respond. Each time I press a command button on the TV (any button eg sound, channel, the video input control changes from Video Input 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 etc. Before the remote receiver failed, the TV would sometimes show menu screens, blinking functions, etc.
Otherwise the TV is perfect. Presently using the cable box to change channels and have the TV sound piped through the stereo system.
My Sony Bravia has the same problem - commands seem to get 'buffered' and are then executed together.Once I notice it is not responding, I sit back and wait for it to catch up, which canbe frustrating.Anyone know the solution?

My Sony Trinitron just stopped responding to any command on my remote control from Time Warner. That remote works on all other tv's and I have tried to program numerous remotes for this TV but none of them work. FRUSTRATING!
My Sony KV-27HS420 TV does not respond to remote control buttons. None of the buttons on the front of the TV work (except the power button). This means I can't change the channels, change volume, or access the menu. Before this, the menu used to appear at random times when the TV was on, without anyone pressing the menu button on the remote or on the TV.
