The 'duck bill' bracket on the shaft near the gear box- where can you get a replacement?
The 'duck bill' bracket on the shaft near the gear box- the white plastic actuator - is broken. How can I get a replacement, or repair it? Is this thing supposed to ALWAYS be in the "down" position, making contact with the thing below it, or is it supposed to move up and down?

look for a shear pin in one of the gears that has done it's job and has prevented mass destruction of a gear by shearing off. Find the gear that is attached to the shaft that drives the blade and see if you can turn I while holding onto the shaft
no model number but some have a plastic fitting that hold the shaft down into the main gear it has a bolt that goes threw it into the bottom of the steering shaft about a $15 part but again no model number to see the set up
They had a issue with the steering column slip-shaft making noise. You can tell if thats the source of the noise by grabing the shaft above the steering box and moving sideways-back and forth, if you can hear it rattleing and feels loose it's most likely the cause. The only way to stop it is to replace the shaft with a up-graded part from GM.
This drove everybody crazy for a while untill they found the problem and redesigned the shaft.
I had the same problem, Replace the govenor pressure sensor. There is a TSB out for this as well, I replaced bolth sensors that are mounted in the valve body of the trans. When I did mine I also adjusting the bands and now it is like a new trans. It was not hard and all the information can be found by searching. I think the sensors ran about $148 for bolth. You will need to remove the trans pan to complete this job if you are doing this. Hope this helps out.
At the far side of the white nylon gears at the base of the gripper arm is a small white 'duck bill' bracket, which clicks a microswitch when the gripper is over the carousel. When it breaks or comes loose it fails to click the microswitch and the arm doesnt stop.
It's the 'duck bill' bracket on the shaft near the gear box. On the others side of the white gears at the base of the tone arm. There's a white bracket that dips and clicks a microswitch when the gripper arm is over the carousel. It's come loose. Press it with your finger when the gripper arm is over the carousel and it will stop. Tighten it in that position..
