When powered on, my player picks up a disc from the carousel and loads into the player, then immediately picks it back up and places it back in the carousel. This is all it does, over and over again. It doesn't even have time to "try" to read the disc, so I don't think its a problem with the lens recognizing the disc. The arm just stays in constant motion. Also, 8 is flashing on the display.

#8 showing with arm swinging back and forth means that the amplifier either needs adjusting (set too loud) and/or fuse Si3 needs changing.

It's the 'duck bill' bracket on the shaft near the gear box. On the others side of the white gears at the base of the tone arm. There's a white bracket that dips and clicks a microswitch when the gripper arm is over the carousel. It's come loose. Press it with your finger when the gripper arm is over the carousel and it will stop. Tighten it in that position..

check the white plastic actuator next to the gear box, it is probably broken and not actuating the microswitch underneath it, these often fail, it may look ok,, but it actually is loose and the set screw on top of it is not clamping it to the rod.

The WURLITZER CD JUKEBOX MODEL CD1 THREW CD8 HAD MECHANISEM THAT STOPPED DUE TO LACK OF LUBRICATION. TO FIND OUT IF THIS IS YOUR PROBLEM. FIRST THING TO DO,PULL THE 120 VOLT CABLE OUT OF THE WALL SOCKET. THAT WAY YOU WILL NOT GET HURT.
THERE ARE TWO MOTORS NEAR THE RECORD MAGAZINE, BELOW THE TURNTABLE.
EACH MOTOR HAS A KNOB ON THE REAR OF EACH MOTOR. TURN THAT KNOB A COUPLE
OF REVOLUTION, CLOCKWISE THEN COUNTER CLOCKWISE.
DO BOTH TURN FREELY??, OR IS THERE A BIND ON ONE MOTOR.

Spoke with "Doctor Jukebox" from Folsom, CA about a similar problem I had. You can find him
on craigslist.
I did NOT have the "2222" display issue.
Root cause: The laser isn't "seeing" the CD and interprets inability to
see as being the end of the track, therefore, puts the CD back into the
carousel.
Solutions:
1) Clean the lens. Be careful to use an appropriate lens cleaning
solution. The lens is made of plastic and may cloud up if a harsh
solution is used. Use a Q-tip dipped into the cleaning solution and
gently clean the lens using a side-to-side motion, not a front-to-back
motion. Wait for a bit until the lens is completely dry, then try
playing a CD. (note: this fixed the problem for me)
If that doesn't work...
2) Replace the laser module. It's easy to remove with a torx. Be
gentle when disconnecting and reconnecting the ribbon cable and/or other
connections so you don't bend the leads. Laser modules cost a few
hundred dollars, so try Solution 1) above before replacing the module.

Thanks, guys. The problem is definitely the "duck bill" white plastic actuator- it's broken! Any ideas how to get a replacement?
