Check the recoil spring in the starter housing, sometimes the rope rotor can jump out the hook on the spring.

Make sure debris is not wrapped around the cutting head. Remove the cutting head and clear any debris. Then see if the drive shaft spins freely. The problem could be either where the drive shaft mates with the clutch on the powerhead or the clutch is worn.

Husqvarna 128ld backfires misses but if you put a ignition checker inline with plug it runs ok

sounds like you have a poor connection from the terminal lead to the plug. When the lead is plugged onto the plug it isn't connecting right and when you put the tester in line then it connects correctly at both ends

Do you have good compression, is there a good spark, is fuel getting into the cylinder.?

My husqvarna 128ld starts and idles fast but only with the choke half on. Give it gas or take the choke off and it dies.

Possibly a fuel starvation issue, incorrect fuel air mix or an air leak within the fuel system

I just recieved a husqvarna 128LD trimmer. What brands of attachments are out there for this unit? I am specifically searching for pole saw and hedge trimming attatchments. Thanks!

My Husqvarna 128ld trimmer will run but only at low rpm. I cant find a tool to adjust the carb. If I choke it 1/2 it will run at higher rpm, I suspect a fuel problem. It started in an instant.

If it is a newer trimmer it has a little plastic deal on the adjustment screws to prevent adjusttment.(epa). You have to break that off then a screw driver will work. Some are tough, turn hi speed screw counter clockwise it will rev

If you have the 128LD from Lowe's, Tractor Supply or Sears you can use TrimmerPlus attachments, any MTD manufactured attachments should work.
