Here is a service manual for the stacked set. The model may be a little different but the repairs will be the same.

SOURCE: Water Building up Inside Front Load Washer when not in use

Okay, it is normal to hear water sloshing around inside the wash tub when the washer is not in use. A small amount of residual water remains in the wash tub under the wash basket (stainless steel tub), and resides in the drain line and drain pump. That's why it is important to keep the door slightly open when not in use to allow the drum to air out. The water will not evaporate, but it will help reduce the build up of odors, mold and mildew.

Now...if your washer is slowly accumulating water in the wash basket area over time, your water inlet valve is probably starting to fail. The leak can be very subtle and you may not notice it. The water only comes from one source - the fill valve via the dispenser. If you wish to replace it, the part is available at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your model number and the part you need can be found under the "Dispenser" heading as item number 1. The replacement is very simple if you follow these steps:

1. UNPLUG the washer and turn off water supply.
2. Remove both fill hoses.
3. Remove the top panel of the washer by removing the screws that hold the panel in place in the rear of the washer.
4. Slide the top panel back, then it lifts off.
5. The water inlet valve is located in the left rear of the washer as facing from the front.
6. Remove the rubber hose leading from the valve and the electrical connections.
7. Remove the mounting screws holding the inlet valve in place.
8. Re-install new valve using these steps inthe reverse order given.

I hope you find this information helpful. If you have further questions, please post back and let me know.

SOURCE: Kenmore Washer/Dryer Stack -- Need to replace Washer

first of all. comming from a Sears Technician.. (don't yell) -- the delivery drivers only know about delivering stuff. they dont know too much,
if the two are the same size they can be stacked.
sometimes have to rig something up
and yes, for that model the top is removed, clips go on the rear and screwed at the front.
in some areas it is sold seperatly as a stacking kit

SOURCE: Kenmore 80 series Model 110.28812790 - water leak inside tub

It's quite possible. First see the Sears parts list for your washer with diagrams of all major parts.

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=+110.28812790&pathTaken=partSearch

Then see the Whirlpool / Kenmore Service manual for these washers and check the troubleshooting section.

Kenmore 417 97962705 Leaking below tub from transmission gasket

see this causes and fix it. God bless you

Try to identify roughly the area the leak is coming from. This will eleminate some of the following

Hose Connections
Check the rubber washers or replace if the hoses are leaking at the water inlet valve.

Door Seal
This is a common place for leaks. Carefully check by partially pulling seal inside out and check for punctures, pens, pencils... Additionaly if the door is not closing properly it may need a door adjustment. This can easily be done by loosening the hinge bolts on the front panel, adjusting and retighten. The seal is also known to get lightly snagged by zippers or rub by heavy items when close are being removed. This tends to cause the seal to get damaged at the six o'clock position. This is sometimes hardly noticeable but if it is leaking from the bottom of the door replace the door seal.

Water Inlet Valve
If the hose connections are good to the water inlet valve check that water is not leaking from the valve itself it is replace the water inlet valve.

Drain Pump
Check the drain pump housing and all hose connections. The drain pump is behind the lower panel, behind the back panel, and sometimes removal of the front panel. Hoses can be tightened. If hoses or pump housing is leaking replace the pump assembly.

Outer Drum
The outer drum is 2 halves bolted together some washers have a seal between others do not. If the washer is leaking between the seems disassembly of the washer will be necessary. The top panel, console, front panel, door seal, struts. Follow the video for the strut replacement and remove the top springs and the inner and outer drum will pull out the front.

How do I remove a tub paddle from the tub of a Kenmore front loading washing machine 417 41042000

There is a single screw holding each vane in place: remove it, then pull the vane towards the front of the tub. 2 of the 3 in my machine were stubborn: I pried the stubborn vanes forward by putting the handle of a hammer behind them, then pulling. There are 6 tabs on the bottom of each vane that slip into slots that are cut into the tub.

Maytag stack unit Model LSE7806ACE leaks

It is most likely the tub seal. Take the two phillips head screws out of the front cover located low on the cover lift forward and remove. Set the machine two low level and fill with water only no soap or clothes when unit starts agitating look at the bottom center of the clothes tub if water is leaking here then you will need to replace the tub seal and tub bearing assembly.

Dryer makes a loud squeaking/squealing noise while drying.

If the dryer model number begins with 417, the drum is supported by a ball bearing in back, and a seal and glides up front. Often, the bearing will become very dry, either from years of use, or from excessive lint blowing up into the bearing. If the bearing isn't cracked or otherwise noticeably bad, you can usually solve the issue simply by lubing the bearing with a high temp grease. While the machine is apart...(a major pain in the butt), make sure to check the condition of the seal and glides on the front panel, and replace the belt if it looks at all cracked or frayed.
If this dryer is not a 417 and/or does not have a rear bearing, it's best to get a maintainance kit (belt, idler pulley and drum rollers) and install all the aforementioned parts, as they are the most likely source of screech. Also, check the motor by spinning the shaft manually with the belt off....if that is squeeking, it's motor
time.

Clothes getting caught on inside of dryer

There are a couple of guide wheels in the back of the dryer. when they get worn out the tub will have excessive play and will trap clothes inside. Just remove the front cover loosen the belt and remove the drum. the worn wheels will be easy to spot. It is an easy and cheap fix.
