Cordless receivers not working

I can eceive and hear incoming calls but they cannot hear me. I get a dial tone, but cannot dial out on either of the pair of cordless phones. The dial tone never ceases even while I am attempting to dial out. I have an external answering machine on the same line and it is functioning properly.

If you have tried the phone base unit in the same jack that works correctly with your answering machine and you still cannot break dial tone, then you have a defective base unit. Jer

How does one forward incomming calls on a uniden 2.4ghz cordless phone?

Cordless phones can not 'forward' a call to an outside line.
Forwarding must be controlled by the ATT, Verizon, or landline provider.
Please contact your provider to determine if you have call forwarding feature built into your service package.

Then, follow the instructions of your landline phone provider.
Here is the instructions for Verizon:

Activating Call Forwarding
You can activate Call Forwarding whenever you want your calls to be sent to another phone, including a mobile phone. Once activated, all your calls will be sent to the forwarding number you request. Each time a call is forwarded, you will hear one short reminder tone on your home phone, but you will not be able to answer the call from your home number.

  1. Lift your telephone's receiver and listen for a dial tone.

  2. Press star.gif7.gif2.gif.
In some areas you must use 7.gif2.gifpound.gif
Dial 1172 on rotary or pulse-dialing phones.

  3. When you hear the tone, set or change the Call Forwarding number by dialing the telephone number where you want your calls transferred.
You will hear the number you entered ring. When the number is answered, Call Forwarding is activated.

  4. If the call is not answered or the line is busy, hang up and call the number again within two minutes.
You will hear two short tones telling you that Call Forwarding is activated.

  5. Hang up the receiver.

Phone won't dial out

I have a GE 6.0 cell fusion phone, Model# 28128. It doesn't give a dial tone. So we cannot make or hear any calls. The incoming calls go to voicemail. I used to power off and on to solve this problem, but that temporary idea does not work. Please help.
Any ideas?

Cannot get dial tone to make a call ane cannot receive an incomming call.o

Double check your wire from the wall to your base set.

Is it possible you have something 'off hook' and the phone company has turned the dial tone off? Look in the front of your telephone book for the procedure to check the service to the "De-Mark"

I hope this helps you

Dial tone is OK, but can't dial out
• Make sure the tone/pulse setting is programmed
correctly.
TONE/PULSE DIALING
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in TALK mode).
2. Use the CID/VOL left (-) or right (+) arrow button to
scroll to 1TONE or 2PULSE, or use the touch tone
pad on the handset to enter the desired setting. For
example, to choose TONE dialing, press the number 1
key. 1TONE is the default setting.
3. Press flash/program to store selection. You will hear a
confirmation tone.

Can't dial out

Can you hear the tones when you dial? Is there a (tone / pulse dial) switch or programming option?
