Hi try unpluging the main power supply

  • Anonymous Oct 21, 2012

Good morning, thank you for responding. I did disconnect the main power source over night as I did not want the oven on all night. (And it did turn off) Upon waking up this morning I plugged it back in and the oven immediately began heating, even though the display indicates it is off.

Whirlpool self-cleaning oven displays Loc red dot appears by start button and stove keeps beeping. I try to push buttons will not do anything, and I also cut the breaker off to reprogram it still doing...

LOC indicates that the Control Lock has been toggled on. This prevents accidentally turning on the oven while cleaning the control panel. Toggling this on and off depends on the model number of the range/oven. For some models, press and hold Cancel and Cook&Hold for three or more seconds until the lock goes off. Press Cancel first; this is for models with the following manual https://outlet.whirlpool.com/digitalassets/RY160LXTS/Use%20and%20Care_EN.pdf . On other models, press and hold Start for the three seconds. This is the step for a recent model, WFE515S0ED
, https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfimages/8b/8b4d9bd3-3c98-42ee-a764-c2e1ddf36914.pdf . On this model, there is a padlock symbol and text next to the Start button indicating how to toggle the control panel lock.

Please add a comment with the model number of your Whirlpool appliance for the directions to toggle the control lock on and off for your model. I hope this helps.

Oven start button not working

Thank you for the full model number I was able to pull up the electrical schematic first turn the circuit breaker off for 30 seconds then back on if you get a PF just hit the cancel button it's the same as rebooting your computer, do you still have a display is the time showing if not you have either an open thermal fuse stopping power to the control or a bad control, if you have a display push and hold the cancel/off for 5 seconds this should place you in diagnostics error codes always start with an F number E number example F0E0 no errors I wish I could be of more help but I have service many oven with the exact problem you are having and it's 50/50 as to a bad control or keypad each are dependent on each other on the back of the control panel there should be a plastic packet with the technical sheet hopes this helps

Probe light on convection oven stays on. Clock won't display. Oven still works though.

Sounds like the control board is not communicating correctly with the rest of the unit, consult a professional.

My kenmore W&R locked to start the cleaning process and never turned on, but now won't open. It's been 4 hours.

Verify that the Whirlpool oven is connected to its power source. The oven may sometimes lock down if experiencing a power surge or similar electrical problems. Additionally, check that a fuse hasn't been blown in your home's fuse box. Some older homes may not have the proper wiring to support a high-powered appliance such as a Whirlpool oven. If you are not sure if your wiring is sufficient, consult a local electrician.
  • Check to see if the Whirlpool oven's Control Lock has been turned on, a safety mechanism designed to lock the oven and disable its keypad and display controls. A padlock symbol will be displayed in the corner of the Whirlpool oven's front display panel if it is locked. The oven will not unlock itself on its own even if it is disconnected from its power source. To disable, press and hold the "3" button on the keypad for five seconds until the padlock icon disappears.
  • See if the Whirlpool oven is engaged in its self-cleaning cycle. During the self-cleaning process, the stove will lock its front door and will flash "OVEN LOCKED" on its front display. This is to prevent users from accidentally opening the oven and burning themselves during the high-heat segment in the cleaning process. If you must open the oven, first stop the process by pressing and holding the "OFF/CANCEL" button on the stove's control panel. If the oven remains locked, wait for the internal temperatures to decrease. The locking mechanism is temperature controlled and will not unlock until internal temperatures have cooled.
  • Contact Whirlpool's service department if your Whirlpool oven remains locked and you cannot troubleshoot it or open it. All Whirlpool self-cleaning ovens are covered for five years after the original purchase date. Call the warranty team for assistance by dialing toll-free (800) 253-1301 in the United States, or (800) 807-6777 in Canada. Be prepared to give the oven's model number and purchase date

Have XR 3808161 Whirlpool Accubake Model Y398LX. Error code F-2. Oven won't turn off when button pushed. Solution?

    Hi

F2 Error indicates a loose/broken wire on the oven temp sensor or the oven temp. sensor itself is bad and should be replaced. To solve this issue test the oven temp. sensor, it should read between 1080-1120 ohms, if the rating is more then that and the door appears to be closing fine then it is the control board that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

I push the bake button for the lower oven and it begins to beep and displays a F9 on the digital display

    Hi

F9 is a door lock error and to solve this issue you can hold the light switch for 15 seconds, this will reset the control. If it won't work then hold the light switch in and set the unit to clean and after a minute press cancel to cancel the clean cycle. If still it won't work then the door lock assembly should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.
