My 1.0 Sta-rite Dura Glass pool pump will not start

make sure you make a wiring diagram or just unplug the plug from the mother board and search your area for your local pool pump repair guy with free testing. these are a high $$$ motor and not a good one to practice on, save it for a pro ! it might just be a dirty switch or need to be reset I don't charge any thing for that, and while your there ask him how to take better care of your $$$ pump ?

if you have the motor I recommend you have a pro do it. search your area for you're local pool pump motor repair service. cost should be around $20.00 this way its done right and protects the motor from getting damaged. ask them how to take better care of your pump and motor, that's the best pump you can get. sta rite dura glas

you can take your motor to the local Motor Shop and have them put new bearings in it. That is usually what causes that noise in the motor.

2 YELLOW GO ON 1 POST ON CAPACITOR , THE ONE RED GOES TO THE ONE SIDE OF THE POINTS THE RED/WHIT GOES TO THE POINTS AND TO THE OPEN LUG ON THE CAPACITOR .. SORRY ABOUT THE PICTURE , THE OTHER ONE WOULD NOT LOAD .. JAY THE POOL PUMP MOTOR REPAIR GUY LONGWOOD FLORIDA .

Check to see if you can turn by hand, Open housing and do this. Turn on and see if you can spin it and make it start(CAREFUL) If it won't turn ether when off or while it has power going to it, UH-OH! it's time for a new motor. If it will turn and starts when you spin it, it is probably just a start capacitor. Good luck.

GOOD LUCK GETTING PARTS FOR THIS.. FRANK , IF WERE MY POOL I WOULD CHANGE THAT PUMP OUT TO A STA-RITE DURA GLASS.. FLOTEC IS A POOR COPY OF THE STA RITE.. OR YOU CAN CHECK THE IMPELLER IF IT IS PLUGGED WITH TRASH OR IT COULD HAVE A BAD CAPACITOR.. BRING IT IN AND HAVE IT CHECKED..

SOUND LIKE YOUR MOTOR IS TOAST ! DO TO THE COST OF MOTORS FOR THESE , REPLACE THE COMPLETE PUMP WITH A 1.5 HP STA-RITE DURA GLASS ! OR YOU MIGHT NEED A 2HP.. LOOK ON YOUR MOTOR LABEL FOR THE HP AND THE SF . TAKE A PICTURE OF IT AND PRINT IT OUT. BRING THIS INFO TO YOUR LOCAL POOL PUMP REPAIR GUY AND ASK WHATS THE BEST PUMP. I assume you mean the white wire under the rear motor cover? If so Sta-Rite puts a wiring diagram inside this back cover. Hopefully it is still intact for you. Depending on your model and if it is wired for 115vac or 220vac will make a difference. I would suggest you go to the link I attached and look up your manual. The manual will have the wiring diagram for you.

Pump is heating up and kicking the breaker try cleaning the pump filter and let me know by posting to this solution.

Lock the shaft at the end where you electrical connections are made (disconnected of course!) and spin it off counterclockwise.
