When you say it won't re-install Windows XP, do you mean the system will not boot up to the CD?

Microsoft office drivers

Please post the error code if any. Also, I need the info of the:
1. MS Office version (2013/2010/2007 or older version) and the media (DVD, flash drive),
2. The installed operating system (Windows 8/7/Vista/XP)
3. The remaining hard drive space (the system will display warning if the hard drive space is not enough)

Insert XP CD into drive, reboot pc pressing F1 button.. This takes you into BIOS, change your primary boot device to CDrom, save changes and reboot. Select boot from CD once this appears and wait for files to be installed. Select the part of the hard drive you wish to use for your operating system (usually the largest) and select partition this drive. Delete any previous os, and reformat hard drive. (Be aware this removes everything saved on your hard drive, so always back up first) Re boot afterwards and reinstall operating system.
Hope this helps

How to format the system?

You can completely wipe out your system by employing DBAN ( http://www.dban.org/ ) - *CAREFUL*, there is no undoing this format! Backup any important data on an external drive or unit.

Once formatted, you can reinstall your system using any OS CD/DVD (by preference, those which came with the system).

If what you're doing is trying to recover a broken OS, you may try a "recovery install" from the OS CD/DVDs before resorting to a complete format.

I just replaced the hard drive On my Lenovo ThinkPad T60 and I am trying to reboot and install the OS & MS Office. I have a blue screen that reads cannot reboot from any device: Excluded from boot...

Is the hard drive seen in the system bios?Once you upgraded the hard drive did you re-install the operating system.Remember this,,, if the operating system on the drive belonged to another system you will encounter issues when the bios and the new hard drive starts to interact resulting .If you have data on this drive make a back up so you may restore it once the new operating system is installed.
Good luck

Uninstall xp

You can remove service pack 2 from within add/remove programmes, you will not lose any documents, but you will lose the udated security patches which is not recommended. If you mean you wish to remove XP SP completely, obviously the files and everything you have installed on c drive will be deleted as you can only save docs etc within an operating system, as c: is just a partition on your hard drive the files reside within the operating system. If you are upgrading to another operating system my advice would be to use a dual boot system and install the other operating system on a seperate partition of your drive, but you would have to have a fair knowledge of pc operating system installation processes.
