Printer won't print without pressing the // button

Hi, my Oki won't print without me pressing the // button on the printer. Has anyone any idea why, and what I can do to resolve this. Thanks

Was this ever fixed. I have the same problem. On a multi-sheet document, I have to press // after every sheet to print the next - the Oki seems to go offline after printing a single sheet.

    Many TIA,

    S.

We have the same problem at my workplace and it is the toner cartridge. once replaced you will find that you no longer need to press the pause button to print and the paper jam light will stop flashing. The toner cartridge you purchase slowly empties into a tray below the replacement cartridge and will continue to print for weeks or months just fine if you push the pause button, but if you lift out the cartridge you will find that it is empty. You just need to replace it when that starts happening and it will be back to normal.

Your problem's been posted for 4 months, so you should have figured it by now. In any case, you eed to replace the toner bottle, which is empty.

I have a Oki b6500. Replaced the fuser. How to reset the message exchange, "Maintenance." Please help!

The following procedure was provided by Oki Tech support when a web search did not provide an answer. Resetting the Fuser After Replacement - When Counter is NOT Reset First print out a MenuMap and note the fuser count, to later verify that the maintenance reset has taken affect. To reset the fuser counter, enter the diagnostics mode and go to Maintenance Mode Step-1 How to enter the maintenance mode. Hold the Menu & Right arrow button while powering on the printer. Hold the buttons down until the op panel displays “Initializing”. The op panel will display “Output Test” Step-2 Press the down arrow three times. The op panel will display “Maintenance Info” Step-3 Press the right arrow. The op panel will display “Reset Maint Reqd Execute” Step-4 Press the select button. A quick flash will come up on the op panel “Resetting Maintenance Reqd”. The op panel will then display “Reset Maint. Reqd. Execute” Step-5 Press the Cancel button to exit the Maintenance Mode and go back to “Online”. This completes the process, please print out the Menu and inspect the Fuser Count it should read ‘0.’

OKI 24DX - Press ONLINE button to print each page

you have to open your printer icon in CONTROL PANEL

CONTROL PANEL
THEN
PRINTERS AND FAXES
RIGHT CLICK ON YOUR OKI PRINTER

select PREFERENCES

under SET UP and MEDIA size change it to A4

I think this might help you. I'm guessing that you have the wrong size paper selected. And each time the computer needs you to confirm you want to print with a different size paper

I wouldn't phone OKI help line..I was on hold for 15 minutes, then just gave up.

Oki Microline 590

Try to perform an offline test print using your printer alone
To do this, power off your printer first
Press and hold the LF/FF button on the printer panel then power on. The printer will perform its own printing ( lines of pattern )
If it does it without problems ( no MENU lights came on ) the printer should be OK. If not try replacing the printer main control board.

Hope this helps

"490: MP tray is empty" message when trying to print labels from Word 2003

The MP tray referred to is the Multi Purpose tray and is located at the front of the printer. To access it, you need to find the 2 indentations at the side of the front feed assembly and pull them towards you. this then gives access to the MP tray. Don't forget to press the blue button after loading the paper. Your user guide/manual will give clear instructions and pictures. It may also be called manual feed tray. Once loaded with the correct paper press the online button and printing will start.

Oki c5500n drum reset

To get the OKI C5500 to keep going (without opening and closing the lid constantly) in spite of toner cartridge & drum life messages:

1) Turn off printer.
2) Hold down "+" and "-" buttons at the same time, and keep them held down while turning printer back on... continue to hold until the word "OKIUSER" appears.
3) Use "-" button to scroll down to "FUSE KEEP MODE".
4) Press "Enter" button, hold for approx. 10 seconds, then release.
5) Press "Enter" button again, followed by rapid release and repress with hold for approx. 10 seconds.
6) Release "Enter" button, then press and let up one more time quickly.
7) You will see "INITIALING" and then "ONLINE" messages.

If you currently have an error message for toner cartridge life, the message will continue to be shown until after you've sent one print job, and then it will usually disappear for awhile. It will stay gone for longer if you have your printer set up so the toner sensor is turned off.

If you currently have a error message for drum life, it will continue to appear, but you will still be able to print.

Beware that you will have to keep a closer eye on print quality (since you are no longer relying on error message to tell you when your toner cartridges are in need of a replacement or refill, or the drum truly needs to be changed or refurbished).
Please note that anytime you turn the printer off, you will have to go through the whole process again when you turn it back on. It doesn't take long though, and will quickly become habit whenever turning on your printer for the day!
Good Luck.
