ION Audio TTUSB10 Turntable Logo
Posted on Jan 01, 2009

No sound I recently purchased the Ion TTUSB10 to backup my old records onto cd's. When I connect the USB and begin recording, I can hear the music on my computer. The issue is that the file which is created is just dead sound. I can find the file (mp3) that was created and the length is all accurate but once played in itunes, media player or quicktime, there is no music. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

Try setting the recordsettings of ur soundcard to "record what you hear". This way it will record ALL the sounds that are produced in windows. Warning: this also means that it could record an windows systemsound as well.

What do I do to get this ION TTUSB10 to work with my Adobe 1. 5?

You can get Audacity free on the net. This will record any music. However if you want to really clean up the music I would recommend Magix Audio Cleaning Lab. This will make an excellent job of restoring scratched records. You do have to pay for it though. There are many versions out there some less expensive than others. Try searching Amazon for it.

I purchased a Vibe Sound 3 Speed Turntable w/USB to PC and it does not have sound when I plug it in to the USB. The record is spining and I can hear sound from the needle.

The turntable won't make sound on its own when connected to the USB port. There are probably some drivers on the CD packed with the table that you'll need to install, and then you'll need to select the device in the Windows sound control panel. You'll also need some software to record and edit your vinyl if you want to transfer your records to CD.

I'm not familiar with the brand of turntable you have, just the ION, but it probably came bundled with some application on a CD. The ION table comes with Audacity, as well as some trial versions of audio processing (click and pop filter, hiss remover, etc.). Audacity is free, open-source software you can download here if you want it. It allows you to listen to and record your vinyl audio as wave files, then edit it, split tracks, add effects, and other fun things.

ION TTSUSB10 does not record stero

I solved the problem by using www.wiki.audacityteam.org home page under the technology heading and clicking on USB turntables. The mixer had to be changed to 2 channels. (stereo)

ION TTUSB10 turntable plugged into Toshiba laptop,

Maybe the output is not good enough for line in on laptop try mic in, then double click the sound icon down bottom right where time is, goto options, properties, then recording inside of recording make sure all boxes are ticked so you have all options like mic wave stereo mix line and so on, click ok, now make sure what ever you have the turn tables pluged into is selected as your recording device and not muted try again, once this is all ok ., it should work. hope this helps. also make sure your software you use to record is also set up same. take care

I have a friend who wants to convert a vinyl record to CD but wants to know how to eliminate the scratching "ssss"

This one is real easy first off make sure you use good quality cables and hook it into a decent sound card I would avoid the usb connection especially if you have a lot of other usb stuff plugged in.

Then dump the software that came with it and get a copy of "Goldwave" or some other quality software.

I use goldwave to record OLD 78 rpm records which are really bad at throwing up noise. goldwave has filters that you can apply after you have finished recording
These are superb at getting rid of hiss crackle pops and a whole heap of other stuff. Its also pretty simple to use.
I have tried other software but keep coming back to goldwave. It also has some fancy tricks up its sleeve too if you want to get creative

Hi if you click on control panel, click on hardware+sound, then click on the recording tab find it will show up as microphone USB Codec click on it, click the properties button, click on advanced tab,
in the default format make sure that " 2 channel,16-bit,44100Hz (cd quality)" is selected, the incorrect default is for 1 channel.

Hope this is of some use to you.

LP audio recording seems to be at the wrong speed

1- The turntable is set to 45 rpm and the album is recorded at 33 rpm. Press the 33 rpm button the red light should come on turn the and be fine.

or

2- This turn table has a fast record mode where you can record a 33 rpm LP faster by spinning it at 45 rpm. If you are trying to use this mode you will have to make a software setting to tell the TTUSB10 digital converter program what mode you want to run.

:).
