My tom tom won't turn on. While charging it, the green light goes on, but pressing the power button does nothing. It's just dead. Is there a solution?

If you have a tom tom from the GO models
they hace a reset button you can press with a pin were the mount fits.
When you plug in the charger the green light should come on to say it is chargeing.
Try the car adapter to charge the tom tom

My tomtom won't turn on when I've charged it for several hours in the car and now at my computer. The green light is on but I still can't get it to turn on.

try the usb cable to your. this is the recommended method to charge a tomtom

when it wont power on. for reasons unexplained by tomtom they do not recommend the car or house charges.

plug it in via the usb cable to your computer for a few hours(make sure the green light is on and nice and bright) then press and hold the power button(this could take up to 20 seconds)

Hi,

Please connect your tom tom to the power adapter first.Get a paper clip and press the reset button under the SD card slot of your tom tom.Reset button is a very small small hole at the back near the sd card slot.Keep pressing the reset button for 2mins and also press the power button till the light comes on.

This should fix the issue.Let me know if you need any more help.

hold the power on button down until it turns on, does this help, also being plugged into charger with green light coming on normally means that the unit is charged.

leave on charge for two hours, then with the SD card out hold down the reset button at the back of unit for ten seconds and then the 'on' switch for ten seconds.

I had the same issue. I used a paper clip to press the reset button on the bottom of the device.

I had the same problem with the go 920, I thought it was broken,
Solution was to insert pin into reset hole for 15 Sec, after which hold the power on button for at least 5 Secs

If your Tom Tom does not have a reset button hold the power button till it turns back on. This can take 20 seconds or longer. This will reset your Tom Tom.

I did exactly what was suggested in holding down the power button and it worked perfectly
