There are many ways. For instance:

  • Adobe Acrobat - This is the primary software of PDF files.
  • MS Office Word - Lets you export as PDF.
  • Apache OpenOffice Writer - Is a free alternate for MS Office.
  • Scan - Some scanner software allow you to export as PDF.
  • 3rd party software -There are PDF converters online. Some free.

Note that PDF files can be static as a picture, like scanning for instance. Or, dynamic like a word processor.

I can not save multiple pages to a PDF file... using HP scanjet 2200c

You cannot save multiple pages as a single file using a flatbed scanner.
Create a WORD document then paste each images on a page, save the Word document and you can also create a PDF of the Word document.

Can't save multiple page scan to multiple page pdf document

that should be because you scanned the pages separately, did you notice if the PDF document converted was the very last page of the 13paged document which you wanted to make a document from? if that's right, then you just only converted the last scanned page into PDF, to stick all the pages together, i recoment you treating them as images and using word to stick them all together with the "insert>image> from archive" adjusting the size of the image at 1 page and with each 13 pages do the same until you have a full document of 13 images in 13 pages then you can convert it into PDF

How do I add multiple pages to one scanned doucment?

Open your Adobe Acrobat (e.g., 9.0 Pro), load your pages into the document feeder (fewer than 30 at a time), then ask Adobe Acrobat to create PDF from scanner (File/Create PDF/From Scanner). Canon MP530 as the scanner and click OK. Works like a charm!

Scanning Multiple pages into one pdf

Scanning a multi-page document as a .pdf file reverts the settings for rotation, selected area, etc. to default for any pages after the first page. This applies to Mac OSX 10.3, 10.4, & 10.5. A simple, but tedious work-around is to scan each page as a separate file and easily recombine them using OSX Preview. Just open the first page, view the Sidebar, and drag-drop the additional page files into the sidebar. Save and it's all one multi-page .pdf.
