Logitech Harmony recently made changes to our customer service policy and we wanted to make sure that you have the most up-to-date information for your readers. You may want to update your Web site to reflect these changes.

Historically we have encouraged our customers to contact us by telephone when they have questions. As more and more people choose Logitech Harmony, however, we have developed more efficient ways to support our valued customers.

Beginning December 1, new Harmony customers have free, unlimited access to phone support for the first 60 days after they’ve created an account to set up their Harmony remote. (With the purchase of each additional remote, Harmony customers will have 60 days of additional phone support from the date of purchase.)

Those who’ve had an account for their Harmony remote longer than 60 days will continue to have access to online help, the forums and responses through e-mail submission in the Harmony software, but not phone support.

To save time and provide clear answers to a whole range of questions, we’ve created an active community forum, bringing together Logitech employees and Harmony users to answer questions publicly so that everyone can benefit from the answers. The forums have already resolved hundreds of troubleshooting questions.

We’ve also continued to build our online help, with user manuals and FAQs that allow people to find the answers to their how-to questions with a quick search – without having to wait on hold. And they’re all easily accessible through Harmony software.

SOURCE: Harmony 880 display is backlit but menu won't

Sometimes the LCD screen fails on the 880/890 series. But, there are a few tricks you can try that have brought the LCD back to life.
Some LCD problems have been solved by updating the remote's firmware while the remote has been placed in 'safe mode'. To do this, launch the Logitech Remote software on your computer and click on "Downloads" (on the top menu bar). Then, take the battery out of your remote and at the same time you connect the USB cable to your remote (it should be already connected on the computer end) press and hold down the Off button at the top of the remote. This will put the remote in "safe mode". Continue to hold down the Off button until you see the message "safe mode requested" on the remote's screen and the screen starts blinking. Now, since your screen is not behaving properly, you may or may not see this message, but after about 5 seconds you can release the Off button. Now, go back to your computer and click on "Firmware". If the software is able to communicate with the remote, an update to the remote's firmware should be executed. This has solved many a 'blue screen of death' problem. Good luck!

I had this same issue with my Harmony Remote. Logitech sent be these steps and they got it working right!!!

1) Remove the battery from the Harmony Remote for 10 seconds and reinsert it. If this does not resolve the issue, please continue troubleshooting.
2) Ensure you have the latest version of the Harmony Remote Software (7.7).
3) Update the firmware on the Harmony Remote. The following link shows how to complete this task:

4) Try putting the Harmony Remote in safe mode and complete the firmware update again. The following are the steps to accomplish this:
a) Remove the battery from the Harmony Remote.

c) To get out of safe mode, remove the battery for 10 seconds and reinsert it into the Harmony Remote.

I hope this gets the display on your Harmony Remote working too!!!

Logitech does not distribute replacement LCD screens. However, I have found a few on eBay so you can find them if you take a look.

I wish there was a low cost solution to your broken display. However, the cost to repair will run more than a new remote.
I would recomend the Harmony 510 for a replacement.

Broken face plate on Harmony 890 Remote. Can it be replaced, if so advise. Remote is in good working condition.

You would have to check with Harmony and see if they have a parts list. If you still have the manual, that info should be on the first or last few pages. Or Google "Harmony 890 replacement parts".

NO LCD DISPLAY

1- Remove the battery from the Harmony Remote for 10 seconds and insert it back in, and test the remote to see if the screen is displayed properly. If this does not fix the issue, please proceed with the following steps.

2- Make sure you have the latest Logitech Harmony Software (version 7.6.0) installed on your computer.

3- Connect your Harmony Remote to the computer. Run the Logitech Harmony Remote software on the computer and Login to your account.

4- Click on the "Downloads" button at the top and select "Firmware"

5- Remote will go through the firmware update, which will put the Harmony Remote back to Factory Default with the most updated firmware. Then software will ask you to select "Yes" to update the remote and click on "Next" to do a remote update, which will take the information on your account with your Devices and Activities and bring them into the Harmony Remote.

6- If this Firmware Update process does not fix the LCD screen issue, try doing a Firmware Update in "Safe Mode". To do this; remove the battery from the remote, press and hold the "Off" button on the top of the Harmony Remote and insert the battery back in to the Harmony Remote. Screen will display "Safe Mode" and then please follow the steps 3 through 5 again.

My logitech H628 Harmony remote displays System Error a message

Hi!

Unfortunately, system error one is apparently a hardware issue. It means something about the memory being lost in your Harmony Remote. I had to get a replacement Harmony Remote from Logitech but you would have to see if you are still in your warranty period!!!

I hope you are so you can get a replacement!!! =)

Need a new LCD for Logitech Harmony 670 remote

Logitech does not sell replacement LCD screens for Harmony remotes.

I would suggest buying a broken remote from eBay or somewhere cheap. However, keep in mind that attempting to repair your remote will void the warranty.

Touch screen display broken

HI! Here's what to do if your Logitech Harmony remote's LCD screen has gone blank.


1. Remove the battery, press and hold the 'OFF' button, and re-insert the battery. The screen will display 'Safe Mode!', or the 'Activities' button will be lit.

2. Connect your remote to the computer.

3. Launch the Harmony Remote Software, and log in.

4. Click "Downloads" at the top and click "Firmware".

5. The remote will go through the firmware update.

6. Select "Yes", and click NEXT to update the remote.



If the screen is still blank after you complete these steps, then it is a hardware issue and you should contact Logitech's wonderful support team, given that the remote is still under warranty. If you are not in warranty, Logitech does not provide repair services for Harmony products.

I can fix your screen and replace it with a new one. My dog bit my harmony 1000 and shattered it. I have also replaced a harmony 1100 screen. I have been in electronics industry a long time and considering repairing lcd screens on harmony 1000 and 1100 remotes

Harmony 659 erroe measage

Call Harmony support. I have the same thing with Harmony 670 and they said it is a hardware error. No fix that I have been able to find. If it is under warranty they will replace it. If not, I don't know what it would cost to repair.
