DVD REGION FREE & BLUE-RAY REGION FREE
To change the Region code on your DVD player, open Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device manager, and click on DVD/CD ROM drives, then right click on the DVD drive and click Properties then click on DVD Region.
You can enter a new region and it also shows you how many changes have been made.
NOTE you can make only 4 changes and the player will lock permanently on the 4th change.
If you want to play DVDs from any region you maybe able to upgrade the firmware to make it region free BUT if you make a mistake or installed the wrong firmware the player will be a piece of junk.
The best solution to make the player region free is to install a piece of software (Passkey for DVD) that allows you to play DVDs from any region and Passkey for Blu-ray that allows you to play Blu-rays from any region. There are several available on the Internet but my favourite is DVD-Region Free From: -

The way to hack a Blu Ray player could be very different from model to model. Fortunately, there is a place where you can find exactly how to hack the Blu-Ray player to make it region free, and that is the VideoHelp forum. Go to the forum, and then go to the DVD hack section. All you need to do is to type in the model of your DVD or Blu Ray player and then search for the hack exclusively for your model. If you are lucky enough, you will find a very detailed instruction to unlock the region code for your player. Just follow the instructions and you should be able to make it within a couple of minutes. Also, you can use Leawo DVD Copy to make a DVD copy without region code so that it can be played by all DVD players.
