SD and Micro SD memory cards SD and Micro SD memory cards has a small slide switch on the edge of the card, which write protects data on the memory card or add photos to the SD card. Slide the switch from the LOCK position to the UNLOCK position, which is furthest away from the contacts. ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

SOURCE: How do I transfer pictures onto the memory card?

You should be able to transfer the pictures if it has built in memory. then transfer it to memory card the same way you'd take them off

SOURCE: Camera is saying "Memory card is locked. Slide lock to "write" position."

If you remove the card from the camera, there is a little switch on the SD Card. There is typically a label that shows which direction is locked. If not, switch it to the opposite side. This should solve the problem. Otherwise, there could be a problem with your card. I hope this solves the problem.

SOURCE: How to transfer Nikon Coolpix camera pictures to memory card?

Make sure you have an SD memory card inserted and your camera is on. Press the Play button to view your images. Now press menu and scroll down to the copy feature. You have two options, copy from camera to memory card is on top, and from memory card to camera is on the bottom.  Once you select your option, choose your pictures and copy.

SOURCE: Nikon coolpix 4600: How to transfer pictures from camera to card?

ok I figured out how to do it! put the memory card into the camera, then go to view the pictures. Then press the menu button and scroll until you see the copy button. Then you will see the option to copy from camera to card, or card to camera. Press the option to copy from camera to card and press select all....(or whichever pictures you want copied...I wanted all pictures copied). Then voila! it takes a few seconds to copy from the camera to the card, and there you have it! :)

My memory card is locked am not given lock number how to remove lock 2gb micro

Look closely at the memory card itself. There should be a tiny picture of a lock indicator on the card and a little tab to click or move to the lock position. There should also be a picture of an unlocked lock to signify which direction you need to move that little tab in order to unlock the memory card. Try sliding it to the unlock position to solve your issue.

Hi,
This used to happen when the write protect lock on in the memory card. Refer the manual to see how to remove the memory card.
After removing the memory card, unlock the write protect tab as shown in the fig. d7656e6.jpg

Unlock card

If the card is locked, you could the steps below:

- Turn off camera
- Remove memory card
- Take a look on the switch of the memory card itself
* If it's at the TOP = card is UNLOCKED
* If it's at the BOTTOM = card is LOCKED

- So, you just have to make sure that the switch is at the top
for the memory card to be UNLOCKED

After doing that, you just have to put back the memory card to your camera and turn on the camera. Try to check if this works.

Memory Card Locked

I had to replace two memory cards. Of course I tried the Lock slider thing on the side with no success. The card is cheaply made. I bought a different brand this time, Lexar. I think my old brand was Dane something. It seemed to happen whenever my battery got low. The card looked like a piece of cardboard and acts like one too!
