I have a Kodak Easyshare M853 and the LCD doesn't show the picture you are taking.

I can see the display of the mode I am in, eg, auto etc., so it is working. The picture I am going to take is not showing up on the LCD screen at all.

Hi,
unfortunately it would appear to be a CCD or main board failure.
If the camera is out of warranty (as this should be covered) my best suggestion is to pick up one off ebay with a broken screen and put your screen in it, broken screens are common on these cameras so they go quite cheaply, far cheaper than kodak would charge for repair and the swap is easy.
There are several searchs to try "parts v1003" "spares v1003" "Faulty v1003" "repair v1003"

Best of luck

SOURCE: Self Repair Cracked LCD

I just replaced the LCD in my Kodak EasyShare753. I removed all of the screws that I could find, but still couldn't get the case apart. I finally found that the selector knob on the top of the camera has to be rotated to the SCN position. The lower part of the knob is slotted so that the camera case easily slides apart once the slot is pointing in the right direction.

The pictures are coming out pink and fuzzy

Does this problem appear on the LCD only or on the printed pictures and the LCD?
Is this on all the pictures or just in certain SCN?

If you have the settings on AUTO the camera will automatically adjust to what it thinks will make the best picture.
Try and use the SCN.
You can also switch the flash on and off as you wish.

Turn On the camera then try to press the menu button or review button if the picture or options will not show up it means the LCD is defective, But if your able to view the picture and the menu settings displayed On the LCD ther might be a problem On the shutter or on the lens itself.

Yu may call tech support toll free 1 800 235 6325 ext 12 and you may request to send you camera for repair

M853 pink lines pink pictures

you may just have to take the cost of repairing or replacing it. for ashleyyy x0 and angela1178 if your screen only shows in pink no matter if your looking to take a picture or video or look through the menu the damage may be to the screen. for ginawell it seems there is damage to the data streaming from the lens to the lcd screen.
