No suction at beater head, no action in the cyclone
In upright position suction to the wand is ok. In sweep position there is no suction or action in the cyclone but back pressure coming from top of cyclone housing.
Cyclone has been stripped down and cleaned so has the filter but this has not corrected the problem. Beater bar functions on/off OK and the motor is operating OK, but no suction, only back pressure.
I have the same problem. The wand suction is fine, but the carpet sweeper doesn't appear to have suction despite the the brush rotating OK.I have the same problem. The wand suction is fine, but the carpet sweeper doesn't appear to have suction despite the the brush rotating OK.

Make sure that the vacuum cleaner is in the fully upright position as there is a slide 'gate' thet directs suction to either the vacuum head or to the handle section depending as to which section you wish to use. In the upright position, you shoud be able to hear the vacuum at the handle where the attachments connect. If you still have vacuum at floor level, check the action of this gate. The actuating mechanism may be broken. Cheers Bob
Remove the beater bar to remove the belt, then put the bar back into the sweeper. Check to see if it is bound up--usually the end bearings are packed with debris that prevents movement. Remove the bar again, and remove the bearings from the ends. Clean both the bar pins and the bearing blocks. Lightly oil the bearing blocks with 3-1 or similar light oil. Assemble the bar again and check movement. If ok, reinstall the belt and check sweeping action--if the bar stalls, replace the belt. Hope this helps!
Your switch should have 2 different on positions. One for simple suction and one to engage the beater. The setting without the beater being engaged should be first position from off and the beater would be second position
It sounds as though the wand handle is blocked. To check this, remove the wand/hose from the machine as if you were going to use it to vacuum the stairs. Switch the machine on and test the suction at the top of the wand handle with your hand. If the suction from the wand is poor, remove the wand from the hose and test the suction again from the top of the hose. If the suction here is good, then you know the wand handle is blocked. If the suction is poor at the hose, you can remove the hose from the machine and clear any blockages here.

Take the sole plate off and check for blockages - where the transparrent hose connects to the beater compartment
Are the filters clean?
Make sure the bucket is properly aligned to the main body
Make sure the inspection covers are clear and properly fitted.
They has be a blockage between the beater bar and the main hose which works ok.
Still no good?
Come back to me
You will have A blockage in either the wand or hose, completely remove them from machine the hose unclips at the bottom back of machine,
Now switch machine on with this removed if machine sounds ok then remove the blockage from hose or wand.
If machine still poor suction & noisey with hose & wand removed check the (U) shaped inspection port for blockages.
I have the same problem. The wand suction is fine, but the carpet sweeper doesn't appear to have suction despite the the brush rotating OK.
