I have lost my login & password

Did you change it when you first set it up? If not the default login information will still work.

If not. Reset the router by holding in the reset button for about 5 seconds then login with the default/factory login and password

How to setup router name & router password

To connect to your wireless router, the router's wireless settings needs to be configured with the SSID, encryption etc. and also the wireless cards in all the laptops/computers needs to be configured with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.
Connect a LAN cable from the Linksys to the LAN port on your computer.
Open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL
http://192.168.1.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
You can protect your router by changing the default admin PW (write it down and put it in a safe place)
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption.
Now apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.

I put 192.168.1.1 in my web browser and it always times out. Why?

It's not always that 192.168.1.1 is the address for your router.

Try this instead.

To check the address of you router look for the Default Gateway of you connection. (make sure that you are connected to your router and you have a valid IP address)

Start > Run > type CMD >

On the command prompt window
> type "ipconfig"
> take note of your default gateway

Open your web browser, type your default gateway on the address bar. This should take you to your router's login page

Hope this helps

How do i change my password

Login and then under Utilities/System Settings there is "Administrator Password." You'll have to type in the old password and then the new one & again to confirm it.
If you can't currently login, you'll have to reset the router to the default. There's a reset button on the back of the router. This will reset the router back to when you first got it. It ships without a password so you'll be able to leave the password blank when you login.

Need password for wireless router netgear wgr614 need password to set up wireless i pod

The default login is user = 'admin' and password = 'password' for the router. Only type what is between the quotes. If you changed and forgot your password, there is a reset button on the unit. Press the button until the power light flickers (about 10 seconds). You should now be able to get in using the default login.

I want to change my id user name & password for WRT120N. But I also can't find the program in my computer. Please assit me. Thanks,

In order to access your WRT120N control panel UNDER FACTORY SETTINGS, you must navigate to http://192.168.1.1 in your web browser.

According to Cisco's support site, the default username for the WRT120N will be NULL (left blank) and the password will be "admin".

Once you reach the control panel, navigate to the 'Administration' section, where you should be able to change your username and password.

NOTE: If this does not work, you may want to look into performing a factory reset of your device.

How to get back my account if it is compromised?

Hi,
If the router is not allowing you administrator access rights, you can always reset the router to factory default setting by pushing the reset button on the back of the router. You will see a pinhole on the back and you will need something small and pointed to press it. Press and hold it for 15-20 seconds to reset your router to factory.
Please be reminded that you will lose all current settings for your router including wireless password and setting. You have to know the default username and password too so you can access the setup page for your router to re-setup your preferred settings.
Click here for some info on how to know your router's IP address.
Hope this helps.

Constantly being logged off playstation network. different error codes all the time. One will say Dnla error. thensersvers are experiencing high traffic.another onbe is no media servers are available. My...

Your problem could technically be caused by a number of things , the most common ( I experience it quite often at my in-law's ) is incorrect / default settings on your router . If your internet provider gives you a wireless router / dsl modem combo ( like AT&T Uverse ) the default settings are horrible . 1st thing to do is identify your router ( brand / model # ) & obtain the default administrator password ( either from the manufacturers website / user guide or by calling ( ex. AT&T ) . Once you have the administrator login & password , you can fine tune your network settings .
You will need to have a pc connected to the router with an ethernet cable ( at least for configuring , then you can disconnect & use wireless ) . You will then need to open a internet browser , & type in the router's web management console address ( 192.168.0.1 , 192.168.1.1 , or you can find it in the router manual ) & hit enter . You should now see a page with user & password blanks for you to login .
Once you have logged in you can start configuring the router for better performance , media sharing , coverage , & security . I recommend doing a google search on your particular router to get some good ideas / presets for you to configure ( if you don't know what something means don't just start changing things for the heck of it ( you could very easily screw up your whole network ) .
If this doesn't resolve your issue , try connecting with an ethernet cable instead of wireless , try disconnecting other devices on your network ( if you have a lot of devices ( pc's , phones , game systems , etc... )) , finally try performing a system restore if all else fails .
