Sounds like a blow fuse for sure. Very cheap and easy solution.
Unplug it, open it up and look for any blown fuses (they're usually transparent cylinders). You'll know if they're "blown" if there is no wire going all the way across it inside the cylinder. If you find one, take it to Radio Shack, and they'll get you a replacement.
It's normal to be a little concerned about opening up a sophisticated, expensive electronic. If you're unsure about anything, please ask me. There are no stupid questions.
