Last week my whirlpool dryer model #LEQ9508PWD quit spinning but there was heat. After a lot of research, it turned out to be a bad thermal fuse. Replaced that and dryer appeared to be working fine. Then today the heating element went out again. I replaced this a year ago. Is there something else I could check that could be causing these other problems? Thanks in advance! Also, I noticed the heat turns on when I start the timer, but without hitting the start button.
Hi Warren Fink
Try this solution to your problem
A vent clogged with lint can cause the dryer to overheat.
Right after replacing a dryer element, always run the dryer on air fluff/no heat, and go outside to verify there's plenty of air coming out your vent system.
If the vent's clogged, that new element can burn out very quickly.

If the thermal cut-off is failing, the dryer will keep the element burning and will cause it to fail sooner than expected. Replace the thermal cut-off and hi-limit thermostat. Here is a link to the kit. Kit includes one thermal cut-off (309 degrees) and one hi-limit thermostat (250 degrees), comes with wiring and connectors.

either you are pushing the dryer back to far and crushing the exhaust vent hose .your exhaust vent going outside is stopped up , or your low temp thermo will not let the dryer cycle and it is over heating.

Thermostat controls heat. There is also a
motor centrifulgal switch, in the element
circuit, that the motor closes to insure
the motor is turning. Try another heat
setting. There is more than one
thermostat. You may have blown the
'thermal fuse' too, which requires
replacement. The elecment has a contact in
the 'timer' circuit too.
It is possible that your element has
failed also.
Tripped high limit. Must clean the lint
filter and the exhaust vent tube and all
the way in to the dryer. Hot air exit is
restricted.

replace your t-fuse again but also chekc to see if the vent going outside is restricted. if hte vent is smashed or clogged the heat has nowhere to go. i would say that is your issue. clean your vent before you change he t-fuse.
